Patient As The Moon

the clouds are movin slow
no wind in the sky
the trees stand still
as my time passes by
the moon shows no face
in this time and place
it keeps telling me
life will come together
just wait and see

the stars that i could see
burned so bright
they sat and formed
the sky of lights
i imagined one
a firey sun
to call my heart
to burn on forever
until ive done my part

i sat and thought
for a long little while
about how patient the moon is
and how ancient its smile
my thoughts measure to
not even an inch or two
on a soaring timeline
the moon has spent
patienty watching us, all the time

i wanted to ask
a million questions
about what it sees
and if it hears our confessions
can it see my girl
a far away pearl
is she doing okay
does she sit and wonder
about how im doing everyday

the clouds parted as
i spoke out loud
a voice came and rang
just to me with a whispering sound
son theres no need to worry
let love and time tell its fatefull story
just do your best
and love her with all you can
here you can not fail any test

i felt a breeze
coming chilling me
shivering my bones
i knew then it was meant to be
i thanked the moon
for its advice of truth
i sit know very patiently
for my time to come
to hold her tightly

honestly it's very poignant and at the risk of sounding sappy it's quite articulate

i wrote this one night when i was away in north carolina at like 2 in the morning sittin outside my room on the balcony drinkin beers. and i really missed my gf at the time who was in florida and i just started to wonder what she was doin and how much longer i had to wait till i could see her again. the moon was out so i wrote about it. i think i need to revise it a little though. like the way the sentences and rhymes are set up...idk somthin needs to be different.
