Which movie did you enjoy more?

the last one, because the undead army and that fight at minas tirith.

I voted The Two Towers based on the battle at Helms Deep. That battle scene is so awesome. The ending to it was great.

Return of the King is my favorite movie of all-time. It's easy to see which one I chose.

The fake endings pissed me off too

I'm going with the Two Towers, so consistently dark and sorrowful, it's my favorite for that reason. Second would be The Fellowship. Return has the better battle scenes, and is more epic, but the way it ends just makes me mad.

fellowship. i love the battlescenes in the second and third films, but i just love the settings and somewhat mysteriousness of the first one.

Return of the King, is the right answer.

It had everything - emotion, huge battle scenes, darker tone

The first two movies were just 2 hobbits walking.

You're not allowed to talk about these movies anymore.

I only saw the second one and thought it was boring.

See Clerks 2 and See Also: Sarcasm.

I've offended the nerd! But listen, there's only 1 Return - and it's of the Jedi

I have seen Clerks 2. Just because you vaguely quoted that movie when that was a constant complaint from people doesn't mean that everyone was going to get it.

RotK for obvious reasons

I liked that they didnt include the whole "saruman in the shire" ending from the book

and I didnt mind the ending(s) because the build up was so good.

that would have been pretty anti-climatic though.

the saruman part from the book? yeah I hated it in there and I would have hated it if they put it in the movie.

The battle scene where Boromir dies in Fellowship is a great scene, probably my favorite in the first.

"...you were my captain...my king."

Best line of the whole movie.

i still think this series is overrated. it was entertaining on the first viewing, but i have no desire to watch them again.

Last one. It just had an "epic" feeling to it, especially once Aragorn assumed his kingship.

The line "Hobbits... you bow to no man." chokes me up every time.

It's overrated just because you don't like watching them a second time? It's such a great story.

"...you were my captain...my king."

Best line of the whole movie.
Yep, I agree. I like Fellowship alot for some reason, alot more then Return of the King. I'm so weird. I'm like the only person who likes Fellowship more than Return of the King.

ROTK for overall sweetness. but in terms of best battle scene, helms deep, hands down

Should have ended on that line...subtitle the rest of that shit afterwards.

yeah...I can watch parts...but, as a whole, I think much less of them than I did when they came out. Once it loses the epicness of first viewing, they actually are just paced too slowly...I didn't notice it the first times because you are so caught up in the grandeur.

I think they're three pretty awesome movies for the time they were made in. Three 3 hour movies made in three years? That's a pretty amazing job.

In terms of technological aspects and overall achievement...it's probably a first since Star Wars kind of thing really. I just notice it with ROTK, it's paced really slowly, like, I always want to skip ahead to a battle scene, etc

I just watched the Fellowship extended today. It was still awesome. Boromir ruled.

To be honest the first one, since they more and more strayed from the books as the series progressed. Some things in the newer movies make me cringe (like the whole Gollum tricks Frodo into sending Samwise home... so unnecessary.)

Should have ended on that line...subtitle the rest of that shit afterwards.Agreed. But then the hxc LoTR fans would revolt and burn down Peter Jackson's house for changing it.

Really? I disagree massively. I love the series and i am watching them all continously. They are fantastic and i am astonished when people don't agree.

Oh, I also went for ROTK. Its the culmination of a fantastic trilogy and its hard to go past. Yes there are deviations from the book but i will accept them. Fantastic movie, as good as it was the first time i saw it.
