View Full Version : The Music Ocean got deleted?

Google strikes again.

They've been deleting music blogs for the past month or so, and they finally hit themusicocean.blogspot.com.

Unfortunately because of Google cracking down on their Blogspot users, we might be seeing the end of music blogs.

...as we know them at least.

Thoughts?

Marianu,

Are there any plans for the site to open it's own domain or is it all over now?

Oh wow, dude, I never went to The Music Ocean (didn't know about it until now) but I find mediafire links from Google and most of the ones I downloaded from were uploaded by you! Thanks a lot, man.

Funny, if it weren't for Google, I wouldn't be able to illegally download anything. It's how I get all my music.

That comment pretty much sums up our generation.

The copyright debate is really interesting to get into. I'm not against artists earning money, but there would be considerably less bands breaking out without piracy in music. I personally haven't bought a CD (aside from at local shows) in over two years. I download all of my music from the internet for free. It has come to the time where people choose whether to pay for the music, or get it for free. Since people have been given the option, many choose to get it for free. Most of those people aren't capable of paying for the amount of music that they have in their iTunes.

I read an article recently talking about how, who I think was Sony, is thinking about lowering CD prices to somewhere between $6-$10 in hopes of earning their money through bulk sales. I'm all for this, but one has to think, isn't that what CD's should have been sold for in the first place, and didn't they used to be sold for that price before the spreading of music piracy anyway?

Makes sense. We've all got our own stuff going on.

I found this link. Apparently the site was worth about $15,000.

http://www.websiteoutlook.com/www.themusicocean.blogspot.com

I've always wondered what sites like that are worth.

If you're ever looking for other to pitch in and help, I'm down.

I'm a regular visitor of elbo.ws (http://www.elbo.ws), so as far as I'm concerned Google has no bearing on my MP3 blog traffic.
