i had the chance to catch fear before and the number 12 on their tour last night at KCs music alley in fredericksburg, Virginia. i was initially surprised at the turnout, as there were more kids at the show than i had ever seen at this particular venue, which impressed me, as the touring bands are not what you would label as mainstream, compounded by the fact that the show was held at a billiards/dancehall/bar in a small town. the number 12 wrecked shop within the first 2 minutes of their set, as their music fueled an outburst of dancers, stage divers, and kids attempting to boogie board on top of the kids closest to the stage. their set lasted for approximately 25 minutes, and they stuck mostly to tracks off of sad.nuclear.sad. fear before the march of flames took the stage and immediately ripped into their new track "lycanthropy". the middle portion of their set consisted of songs all off of art damage, such as "hey kid..." "see you in the shallows" "consequences david..." and "the long road to the middle". they closed the set with another new song entitled "drowning the old hag". from what i've heard online and at the show, i expect their new album to be innovative and shocking, as well as a solid sequel to art damage. the new drummer and the 2nd guitarist appear to be good additions, as there were no noticable differences in song structure or sound, and they also gave the live set a nice full sound, and allowed the band to execute their backing vocals, which are imparitive to the bands sound, to the fullest. not to mention, they added to the bands already superior stage performance.

i hate when people say Fear
there's already a band called Fear
it's either Fear Before or Fear Before The March Of Flames

from what i've seen from set-lists, they aren't playing anything off "odd how people shake"- which pisses me off because now they have two guitarists again like they did for the first album and they could pull off the songs better.
