Yep vote out one of the last moderate democrats left in office because he didn't flip-flop on the war like the majority of other democrats did.

Oh no, Joe sure has never flip-flopped (http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/8/6/191356/9817) on anything. But so what if he didn't flip-flop. Iraq isn't going too great, a flip-flop from "staying the course" would probably be a good idea. Or vote him out because he was one of the first to support Bush's plan to privatize social security. Or vote him out because he thinks it's okay for hospitals to choose not to give out Plan B on personal moral objections. Or because it seems a little odd that Republicans everywhere are rallying behind him, a "democrat". Or because he won't stand by his party and accept a loss at the primary. They're all pretty good reasons.

Yes the same man who has supported a war in Iraq longer then he's been a senator, the same liberal democrat with a 100% rating with (the disgusting) NARAL group and who supports (the barbaric) "late term" abortion procedure. The same man who voted against Bush's social security plan.
Leiberman is the same left of center democrat who Conn voters have elected and reelected 3 times, the change is in the fanaticism that has befallen the state voters and their willingness to be manipulated by it.
How is it odd that republicans and moderates nation wide have taken an interest in this primary, do they not have a stake too in wanting to keep a more moderated individual in congress and keeping out a more partisan poll puppet? Was it odd that Democrats "rallied" against Santorum's reelection nomination? Was it odd that democrats "rallied" in Specter's reelection bid? Or Chafee's, or McCain's presidential nomination, or anyone of the hand full of more “moderate” republicans? Is this not the exact same thing?

if i lived in conneticut, i would have voted for lieberman, not because i like him, but because he's more able to get things done for my state due to his seniority.

But hey, you're in Alaska! You've got Ted Stevens, he sure has that seniority. I'm sure you're all proud he's out there trying to keep people like me from sending messages and clogging up your tubes. I mean, I just put my message in, but with all the commercial traffic, you might not get it until next Thursday!

yeah ted stevens is a total ass, i disagree with alot of if not most of what he says, and i don't much like his practices, but in the end he has been able to get hundreds of millions of dollars a year in funding set aside for alaska.

But, is that important? Did you guys really need that bridge to nowhere? Typically, when one disagrees with a leader, they don't vote for that leader. At least, that's how I'd like to think it works.

right now the bridge leads to nowhere, but anchorage is running out of space to expand, once that bridge gets built a very big area will be opened up for the cities inevitable expansion, buisness booms, jobs get created, the state rakes in dough, and hopefully we won't have to depend on ANWAR being opened up to make ends meet.
i just weigh the issues and go with what's most important, and on the state level stevens takes care of that.
