Reel Big Fish/Streetlight Manifesto
August 4th, 2006
Sokol Auditorium
Omaha, NE
Streetlight Manifesto:
01. That'll Be the Day
02. New Song 01
03. Point/Keasby/Counterpoint
04. Everything Went Numb
05. New Song 02
06. A Moment of Violence
07. Here's To Life
-All in all, a kickass set. Too many crowdsurfers, and some kid tried to get on stage by eluding security guards but went off the stage neck first. Dumbshit.
REEL BIG FISH! (not in order due to the unholy amount of songs, but here they are:)
01. Take on Me
02. Kiss Me Deadly
03. Sell Out
04. Trendy
05. She Has a Girlfriend Now
06. Beer
07. Suburban Rhythm Medley
08. All I Want is More
09. Nothin'
10. Enter Sandman/The Set Up
11. Thank You For Not Moshing
12. Ban the Tube Top
13. Cheer Up!
14. Where Have You Been? - Extended version with trumpet, scat, bass, and vocal solos - grant scatting was amazing.
15. The Fire
16. Drinkin'
17. The Bad Guy
18. Your Guts (I Hate 'Em)
All in all, an amazing show. Whole Wheat Bread was pretty good, but without Nick Largen you lose half of the reason to see them live. They have the amount of energy needed to kick all sorts of ass, and if they worry about song writing as much as they do the live show on the next album, they should be able to transcend the gimmick band tag that follows them around.
Transition didn't play, so I can't say anything about them, and I didn't stay around for MXPX because I don't like them. So, three straight great bands, and a taste of the new streetlight songs. Best of 07 belongs to streetlight.
