I find this whole thing to be really downplayed. If some senator said, "Holywood is a prime example that Hitler did not do enough," the world would stop. I think this is a weird double standard and yes Asians have taken alot of racism lying down in the past, I think this is just alittle too far...

Idiotic move by a government official. And we wonder why everything is so screwed up.

Oh sweet, so now we can hound our politicians for what they post on their Facebook pages! I love technology.

Christ, it must suck being a politician; you wouldn't be able to make a single joke without being ripped apart. I realize that's a consequence of the power politicians have, but I can't say I would ever want to make that sacrifice. I enjoy off-color language and jokes too much.

I hate to be that guy but it is kinda funny. But seriously I'm sure we all say things in jest on facebook, media is kinda reaching with this.. as offensive as it is to some.

I wonder what was going through his mind before he posted that. You would think that politicians would think these things through before posting stuff online.

Also, imagine Trent Reznor changing the lyrics on "Wish" to Facefuck.

Are there really people out there who, after hearing such a fake apology, actually change their opinion of these people for the positive?

Because the things people have said on here are any different? I can hold a grudge for a long ass time and in a (sadly now deleted) thread someone said that I was ugly because I was black. Whether that was jokingly or not should we hang that jackass who you all know and love?

This is the same thing, so the fuck what.

That depends. Was that person in an elected office in which they were supposed to be representative of their respective community? Because, if so, yeah, let's 'hang 'em high'!

Pretty much, he's an elected official, not Carlos Mencia. It's pretty funny when the boss slaps all the girls asses in the office, but that kind of conduct is frowned upon for a person in that position.

Nah lets just hang the fuck out of him regardless, how dare he take something so sensitive that it could be the very core of his victim's self esteem issues, even if he didnt know it and it was "all in good humor".

you'll have to figure out if I'm being sarcastic or not on your own with this one mr. bear.

By the way, by having an account on here, he is technically representing this website and representing the people of his state, city, friends, family, and college with his comments to all of the rest of us on internet land.

I was saying that whether jokingly or not, both jackasses may or may not have hit a very sensitive issue (mine being whatever I said in my first post in this thread). Then I said that he is representing a lot of things (like what the people in his state are like, his city, his friends, his family, and his school) on the internet when he makes his location known, so basically for everything you said in your reply to me eariler, my answer was partially yes. But because you needed my help with that first part, I doubt anyone is ever going to really figure out if it's sarcasm or just bitterness.

And I see that you changed the fact that you're my biggest fan, to some fucking aesop rock quote. I hope you do go wandering around the village in search of the g-spot, or however the fuck that song goes.

No. Not at all. Whoever said something mean to you (that sucks, it happens) was an anonymous person on the internet...they're allowed to do that (even if it is dickish). This was a politician (not anonymous), a public servant, making a racist joke (whether it's funny or not doesn't matter, it's 'know you're audience') on his Facebook, definitely not anonymous.

I'm not saying the guy can't make the joke, he very well can. He just has to understand that, in the public position he's in, this is the backlash he will receive, and it's perfectly fair.

And I see that you changed the fact that you're my biggest fan

Those who stagnate disappear, only constant is change, etc., etc.

to some fucking aesop rock quote. I hope you do go wandering around the village in search of the g-spot, or however the fuck that song goes.

You say that like it's a bad thing. As well, you're quoting Nite Lite, I was referencing Daylight. 'Life's not a bitch, she's a beautiful woman. You only call her a bitch because she won't let you get that pussy. Maybe she didn't feel you all shared any similar interests, or maybe you're an asshole who couldn't sweet talk the Princess'.

It's a much more positive outlook on life than Nite Lite, so I thought I'd go happy, you know?

Props for knowing Aesop, even if you had to say 'some fucking aesop rock quote'.

When you give out personal information the particular website (like your name, where you live, where you go to college, displayed your picture, given your phone number to a few people, know regulars on that site on a first name basis) you've given away that anonymity, and the closest thing that you do have to it is an impersonal connection or very cold intimacy with a bunch of people. The one thing that makes someone anonymous on the internet (while still giving out information like a first name/nickname or birth date or hometown) is a picture, its what makes someone able to recognize you in your town and call out to you by your name, and because of it, the internet stopped being anonymous a long time ago.

But yes, a politician is way more public than some dick on absolutepunk.

It is a bad thing because it replaced me, and as horribly and god awfully selfless as I am, I'm a self centered person. Plus, I like Nite Lite way more, and because I'm fake angry at you I decided to just go with the more negative line.

I have been told that my music taste is "eclectic" so, props accepted. But did you think I only listened to the music in my head?

I don't really get what point you're trying to make. I agree, whoever was saying racist shit to you was an asshole, and a dumb one at that to post personal information on top of it.

No.

Yes.

You should just be happy you got there in the first place.

But did you think I only listened to the music in my head?

Nope, Aesop is just not a real popular artist on ap.net, so someone picking up on one of his songs (from an older album) from one line was not a usual occurrence.

I don't really get what point you're trying to make. I agree, whoever was saying racist shit to you was an asshole, and a dumb one at that to post personal information on top of it.

I'm saying that if you're in any form of social networking (like myspace, facebook, or even this website) and you have your information on there, you're no longer anonymous, especially if you put a picture of yourself on your profile because then anyone from the internet can identify you. For example, if I really wanted to, I could tell you the first name (or the username) of the guy who said it to me and you'd know where he lived, what he looked like and how old he was, thats not anonymous at all. And because the internet is becoming a bunch of people whoring out their privacy through social networking and blogs and whatever, the second you give out your name and picture on one website, you're no longer anonymous, you're just making or maintaining very impersonal connections.

Yes.

that is just stupid logic.

You should just be happy you got there in the first place.

I told you a while ago that I'd be there, you denied it but I'm like a tumor, a very parasitic tumor, I just grow on you and then eventually you realize I'm like your best friend.

Nope, Aesop is just not a real popular artist on ap.net, so someone picking up on one of his songs (from an older album) from one line was not a usual occurrence.

Look at my profile when you get a chance, you'll notice a pattern.

Exactly, in fact, you and little mr anamericangod went with the whole "youre ugly because you're black" thing after I told him (and you) that it was incredibly pathetic that a 23 year old (at that time) would go so low as to say that someone is physically unattractive when you have no idea what that person looks like. I asked you how you could consider me physically unattractive without knowing what I looked like at all, and you said that I was ugly because I'm black. And yes it was about physical attraction solely because both of you guys went to great lengths to make it known that you would rather scrape your dick on gravel than receive a blow job from me (and no, I wasnt near offering, you were just being a self centered asshole)
