I want to start a thread for those of us who watched wrestling in the past, but no longer watch because it has gone straight to shit.

I was a big fan from about 5th - 8th grade (1997-2000ish I guess)
Then I stopped watching it, those were some good times.
The undertaker-mankind hell in a cell match will always be my favorite.

Yeah, that's when I was watching too, I remember the Stone Cold Steve Austin and Undertaker feud. My cousin and I would take opposite sides (He liked Undetaker, I liked SCSA) and when either one won, we'd fight afterwards because we'd get into an argument as to who was actually better.

I used to a long time ago, now when I flip past it I watch it just to laugh. I can't believe I was into that stuff.
Then again, I liked Taproot at some point.

wrestling sucks so bad these days, i stopped watching maybe 3-4 years ago. In the mid-late 90's it was great. I probably have close to 500 wrestling figures from my childhood.

WWF actually controlled my life at one point. I stopped properly following after Goldberg and Lesnar left, after their overhyped match.

My screenname is JERICHOtony. I loved WWF and Jericho was always my favorite back from his ECW/WCW days. It's a shame that wrestling is no longer nearly as good as it once was, but once WCW was bought out, it all went to crap.

One of the most well wrestled matches I've ever seen was Angle vs. Benoit at Wrestlemania 17. It was the Tap Out only match. I think it was the longest match of the night and featured a crap load of college style wrestling.

I remember D-von, reaching for the belt, 20 feet + up on the ladder, getting pushed over and out of the ring through double high stacked tables....he looked like he was dead after it, it was awesome

It's a shame Chris Jericho isn't acting anymore, he's moved on to acting. I know some people go "OMFG WRESTLERS AS ACTORS EWWWWW", but he's a Groundling. Will Farrell and Phil Hartman were also Groundlings. Like wrestling before it, he's probably the best actor, getting the least credit.

I still have pretty vivid images of them...I used to love wrestling.
Now, the ECW isn't even hardcore...and the WWE is the same story played out over 6 months, and the they hit the repeat button, it sucks. The long epic quality matches are gone...the storylines are weak
Juliana101
08/09/06, 06:23 PM
They need more big players. You can't recycle HHH and Cena over and over and over again.
Back when I watched, they had more big guys: Undertaker, Stone Cold, The Rock, Mick Foley, the McMahons, Kane, The Big Show, etc.
They had numerous rivalries and things were generally better.
However, this is just wacky

It's retarded now, the girls are hot, but they never played the lesbian angle.
I still think the WWF girls are hotter (Terri, Debra, Tori, etc.)

I think wresteling is just as good now, each brand has there own great superstars.
Raw:
HHH
HBK
Cena
Randy Orton
Kane
Umaga
Carlito
Smackdown:
Mysterio
Booker
Batista
Undertatker
Great Khali
Finlay
Bobby Lashley

That brings me to my second point, it was better because all the superstars were in one brand, so we didn't have like 15 champions, if you won the title, you were the champ.
