Harry Sinden has stepped down as president. This is a step in the right direction, but we still have Jacobs at the top so all problems arent close to being solved.

about time. i would rather it would be Jacobs gone, but maybe now we can spend some ACTUAL MONEY on an all-star or something

This is amazing... now if only they would start making some more noise this offseason.

they arent hiring a new president. Instead, they are putting Chiarelli in charge of all operations.

that sounds promising. the senators are one of the better teams in the Eastern Confrence, and with the Red Wings coach, this should be a good year.

wait. So they didnt sign Zdeno Chara? or is that not enough noise for you?

Which is good, Chiarelli knows what hes doing and seemes to have an actual plan. Sinden will still have some impact and be able to give his opinion on decisions, but he will not be the deciding factor or have the final say.

Itll be interesting how they operate now. Jacobs hows always claimed that Sinden had the freedom to run the team however he saw fit, now whether that was Jacobs covering his ass or not will soon be seen. And the problem wasnt always spending money, they seemed like they didnt know how to spend the money that they did. THey didnt resign (or give an extension, i forget which) to Jason Allison and then they turn around and way overpay for Martin Lapointe. And there were many similar cases to that.

And Marc Savard. Two of the biggest free agents. I'd call that successful.

After last years disaster, it's still going to take more than Zdeno Chara.

and Marc Savard...

notice that the year before who did we have?

Mike Knuble
Brian Rolston
Michael Nylander
Sergei Gonchar

WE LOST ALL FOUR OF THEM AND GOT NO ONE DURING THE OFFSEASON!

this has been happening for a while now...goes to show you what greedy fuckers Jacobs and Sinden are.

ok, well then add Savard and possibly Kessel to that. Add Brad Stuart and Mara and you have the makings of a top 5 defense.

and we must not forget the most important and best move that the bruins have made so far this season, Hal Gill is no longer with them. And even better, he is in the division so they get to skate around the human cone many times this year.
