I am making a documentary for school on the fun and excitement of concerts and shows and I need various responses to a couple different questions. Could you answer a couple? or just one? It would help me out a great deal!

1. What is the best part about performing?
2. Why do you think people come to live shows?
3. Some people even make it a life style, the concert-going. Why do you think this is?
4. What makes the desire to see a band live rather than just listen to their CD's much greater?
5. What types of concerts do you attend and/or enjoy?
These are just a few questions or if you just want to comment on the concert feel and atmosphere as a whole, that would be great as well :]
(number 1 only applies to those in a band or who perform)
*What would be even better is if you could record a video of your answers and post them here or send them to my email mnkykid829@aol.com (its my spam email, dont make fun :P I made it when I was 10) That would be the best, seeing as I need some more audio elements because I already have a bunch of typed ones.

Just look for a few clips of Converge on Youtube and present that.

That will show all that is great about live music.

1) Most musicians would say connecting with fans who dig their lyrics
2) I come to gigs to see bands I really like or who potentially may like.
3) Because the giglife is the best life. Makes you feel alive.
4) Because some bands are just much more explosive live and make the CD much more enjoyable to listen to afterwards.
5) I go to alot of hardcore shows, but I go to pop-punk shows, singer/songwriter shows, etc.

1) The best part of performing is the electricity between you and the people there. If you can get that, you totally feel alive.
2) I go to shows to share an experience with the band on a personal level
3) I love real shows because it's a great experience sharing the music with so many people, and seeing the emotion and effort put in to a live performance, and seeing how fans feed off it
4) Some bands are a million times better live. Seeing that makes it worth it
5) I enjoy all types of shows. Most every genre

1) (for me) concerts are fun bc of the extreme bass kicks (you know, that you feel really hard?) and it's fun to play on a drum kit, at that volume, and knowing that everyone in the crowd will have that feeling everytime I kick.. and off course the electricity with the audence..
2) bc a band is always different live, some bands even make a thing out of it (Eels)
3) bc music can help you get away from it all, even if it's just for one concert
4) it becomes personal, seeing the band, and often hearing about what a song means..
5) almost any band that doens't make music for some industry or just to have money.. any real artist
concert feel/atmosphere as a whole?.. it feels great when you feel the crowd is like one person.. screaming the same lyrics and stuff like that, oh and, festivals are even better sometimes, it's like a concert feeling, but lasting 4 days
nd srry, have no cam

1. There's something about being on stage that's transcendent. It's a feeling that can't be replicated in any other venue.
2. Mostly because seeing a band live is totally different than listening to a recording of their music.
3. That's where they find most joy and comfort. It's a lifestyle more than just something to do on a Saturday night.
4. It's right in your face. You get to view the band playing music, rather than just listen to a record.
5. Multiple genres/styles of music. I seem to get more out of, at least lately, an acoustic performance at a local cafe, as opposed to a bigger show, in a large venue or arena.

1. What is the best part about performing?
Being on stage performing for people. It feels so awesome, it's unexplainable unless you experience it yourself.
2. Why do you think people come to live shows?
To watch their favorite bands do what they do best: play music.
3. Some people even make it a life style, the concert-going. Why do you think this is?
People like seeing their favorite bands live, and don't want to miss an opportunity because you never really know if a band is going to come back to your city or not, so people want to catch every show they can, just in case they don't get a chance to later in life
4. What makes the desire to see a band live rather than just listen to their CD's much greater?
First, you get to hear an assortment of songs from the band, not just a single CD. Second, you get to watch them make their music, which I think is incredible. Also, the energy and atmosphere at concerts is just unbeatable, something you can't always capture on a CD.
5. What types of concerts do you attend and/or enjoy?
Any concert with a band I listen to frequently playing, preferably at a mid sized venue, but venue size won't ever determine whether or not I'll go out to a show.

I may make a video of me saying these answers later.

1. What is the best part about performing?
Most bands say to see the hype of the crowd and see so many fans who enjoy their music.

2. Why do you think people come to live shows?
To see a good show.

3. Some people even make it a life style, the concert-going. Why do you think this is?
Because the rush of it. It's fun to see people get all crazy over seeing their favorite band. Also that small chance that you might get the meet them. Some people don't really get the chance to do things like that.

4. What makes the desire to see a band live rather than just listen to their CD's much greater?
To See how good their lives shows are. You know, instead of listening to a recording, you get to hear how they actually sound and how they pump up a crowd. (Plus some bands do funny things)

5. What types of concerts do you attend and/or enjoy?
I really like Festivals because you get to see and meet so many different people and experience bands you would normally wouldn't listen to.

1. I haven't experienced it myself yet but it would probably to be doing what you love in front of people that appreciate it.
2. To see their favorite bands play and to escape from everyday life. For the love of music as well.
3. I go to shows as much as I can. Best feeling in the world to hear the songs you love in person, it's very surreal sometimes.
4. There are bands that play much better live. The emotion in certain songs just becomes much more clearer when you see it happening before your eyes.
5. I see bands of all different kinds of genres.
