My mom showed me a site talking about how Iran conference people said Israel will be wiped off the face of the earth on August 22nd and that is when they'll reply to the whole nuclear weapon peace attempts or something.

It wasn't terrorists that said it, it was Iran's government. But most likely the websites that say the government made the claim of "lighting up Israel's sky" are fake, because they are mostly blogs and no reputable news sites.

iran is so new to the nuclear club though, it's doubtful that they have much of a stockpile. if they did use the few nukes that they may or may not have against israel, they'd have no defense against the wrath that would come down on them from the rest of the world. those extremists are so quick to be martyrs though, that they might not even care about that which is the scary part. can't say that i really know the kind of fear people lived in during the cold war, but at least the 2 countries involved in that were more concerned with their own survival than destruction of the enemy.
