it was speculated.....but the actors were all against it and up until a few days ago they hadnt signed on at all...they all must have got either a fat check..or forced into it...either or...oh well.

The article says Cooper got out of the new McG movie to do this. They're also all each getting $5 million.

I just dont see this living up to the likes of Caddyshack or Animal House, maybe even Bachelor Party. I bring up those movies because its focus in on a group of people, rather than something like The Jerk, which is a classic in its own right.

You say that now, but trust me on this, $467,322,503 says you're wrong and in 20 years this film will be in the same ranks. It's okay if you didn't like it, or thought it was "overrated" (a remark that's becoming overrated in it's own sense), but a shit ton of other people will argue this. Me, I laughed a lot, wasn't the funniest film ever, but it wasn't the worse either. I'd call it a classic in the next decade or so, if people can call Billy Madison or Dumb and Dumber classics then this deserves that same title

Dont get me wrong, i enjoyed it also, especially considering the group of guys in the movie. I really Like Zach Gaspafinafski, Cooper was great since Weeding Crashers, and of course the Nard Dog, cant remember the other guys name, but i liked him in the National Treasure movies.

Long story short, i dont think its overrated, im just surprised about the immediate success of the movie.

Haha yeah I found it because I was looking at Peter Berg on IMDb and I saw Jeremy Piven and I went out and bought it having no idea what it was about.

I think its underrated for a good reason, its about as dark as a comedy can get.

Berg didn't even have his directing style he's known for but the man knows how to write a story.

I thought it was funny Jeremy Piven was in the Kingdom too.

I don't understand this ruining the first/original business. If this one sucks, it sucks. It has nothing to do with the first film.

I'm not saying this is a great idea or it's going to be some classic comedy, but I'm going to give it a chance first. If it sucks, I still enjoyed the first one and it's happens to have a crappy sequel like a lot of other movies.

I completely agree. Though I understand the reasoning for it.

The benefit of creating movies based on pre-existing popular movies or books or shows is that the movie will already have a built in fan base that will go to see it.

It sucks, but it makes sense from a business standpoint.

The Hangover was a good movie, not the greatest comedy ever like it's touted as. I enjoyed it, but I probably would've enjoyed it even more if it weren't being over-quoted by every Tom, Dick and Harry in creation. While I think there's been some good comedies in the past decade or so, there's been very few, if any, potential classics. This sequel, while most likely profitable, isn't necessary in the least.

Oh, yes. I hate it because it made money. Just like how I hate Avatar because it shattered records and not because it was a piece of shit.

No, it just wasn't that funny of a movie. At all. Ed and Zack held it up the best they could, and they did have a few moments where I laughed, but over half of the jokes and comedic situations fell flat on their face.

The first one was the first movie to make me LOL consistently throughout the whole thing since Wedding Crashers. And I'd rank it slightly above that because it didn't have the sentimental final act. The sequel to the wildly successful film The Hangover, will follow the gang, played by Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zack Galifianakis and Justin Bartha, as they take a boys' trip to Thailand with a dangerous stop in Bangkok. Asian gangster Mr. Chow, played by Ken Jeong, will also return.

Really? I mean, it's not that great, but a solid 3 out of 5 at least. Decent, run-of-the-mill storyline, with some good action scenes. Nothing memorable, overrated, but far away from the worst action movie or anything. I'm not praising it, but it's nowhere near as bad as Wanted or something.

It's about just as bad as Wanted. Some of the most terribly framed action scenes I've ever seen, an absolutely horrid performance by Liam Neeson, a daughter so annoying I was praying for him to find her fucking raped to death. Ugh. Hated that picture.

Then how would it go down? Are they just going to have really bad headaches? I'm not trying to be cocky or anything; I just see no possible way for this movie to work without some serious repetition of the first one.

It could be that they keep the characters and the name but they don't necessarily get drunk and forget it all and have to figure out the what happened the night before.

Like how National Lampoon uses the title for different movies that aren't connected. It's just these characters in new situations, ect.

well, i don't think anyone goes into a sequel expecting that much of a similarity, more of a continuation. Yeah they're gonna be hung over but i think the trailer just painted it too similar. Don't get me wrong i'm excited to see it, but i can see where people are coming from, as someone said it's only 2 1/2 mins of a 90 min movie but they did present a lot of similarities.

Even though it looks like the same movie in a different country I thought the trailer was hilarious. That kinda worries me for some reason though. You can't really equate the monkey with the tiger. From the looks of it, it already plays a much different role in this than the tiger did in the first. Equating it to the baby in the first would make much more sense.

DickfaceChillah
03/31/11, 07:49 PM
The great thing about the first film is the comradery between the performers. After years and years of seeing the same old nerd power comedies, we were surprised with a harsh, uncompromising comedy for dudes that echoed classic raunchy comedies while also retaining a modern personality. It was shot beautifully, and aside from some incredibly unfunny bits (Ken Jeong and Mike Epps, who was incredibly out of place), the film was fucking hilarious from start to finish.

It instantly earned it's place as an icon of modern comedy and I do think it will age well.

I am glad this trailer just embraced the fact that it was the same old shtick. It's a comedy sequel. When you try to break formula you run the risk of becoming too ambitious, i.e. Arthur 2: On The Rocks. This film knows it's audience and it is aware of itself. I don't think there's much room for failure. Looks pretty hilarious.
