Went 16-22 192 yards 1touchdown tonight I was happy with that.
How long will it be before he takes over the number 1 qb spot?

plummer's contract is up after this year isn't it?
i'd say next year then, unless the broncos end up out of the playoff run. which is possible, because i think kc takes that division. but they're solid enough they should be in the wild card run.
it's one preseason game though, and i'm assuming it was against second and third stringers.

shanahan's like that with rb's though. how long does a starting rb last as the starting rb in denver? and also, mike bell is blowing people away. he may be a very special player. and rb is easier to step right in and adapt. qb is much more of a learning process.
shanahan knows how to handle qb's, cutler won't get thrown in there too early. if i had to bet, i'd say next year at the earliest.
plummer is good, i do not see how cutler can start over him. I never understood why people were always so down on plummer, the guy had a rediculous season last year yet even before the playoffs started everyone talked about plummer not being able to win big games. i think he is definately one of the top ten qbs in the league and should get more respect.
As for mike bell being the number 1 back, it honestly doesn't matter who the number 1 is. The system is so awesome there, i could rush for 1,000 yards on that team.

plummer isn't a top 10 qb. he's too shaky and inconsistent. if he can have another season like last year, then he very well may be. but he's gotta prove last year wasn't a fluke.
and he does have a tendency to play shitty in big spots. he doesn't get a lot of respect because he hasn't really proven he deserves it.

fuck cutler.
The real story is former Western Michigan University TE, and probably Denver starting TE, Tony Scheffler had 4 catches for 54 yards. :D
And!!!!!!!!!! David Kircus had 6 catches for 76 yards and a TD. :D
Kircus went to a D-2 school that turned into a football powerhouse, Grand Valley State University. The Lions drafted him and he spent most of his time on the practice squad but got significant playing time when basically every reciever we had got injured in 03 and in 04. now he's with Denver.
GVSU Backround info because i like to talk up things in my area (their campus is like 50 mins from me):
Went to the D2 Nat'l title game in 2001 and lost to North Dakota University. This team averaged 58.4 PPG and had a margin of victory average of 48.0.
Went back in 2002 and won it's first D2 title and repeated in 2003.
Then, lost in the NW Regional Finals to North Dakota.
But last year, they beat Valdosta State in a great game to win it's 3rd Nat'l Title in 4 years and has had 4 Title Game appearances in 5 years.
They won 51 games over a 4 year period which isn't just he D2 record, but the record for all the divisions of NCAA football.
David Kircus scored 212 points in 2002, second in NCAA history to only Barry Sanders 238.
482 career points scored is the 6th best mark in NCAA history, and 2nd in Division 2 history.
241 Receptions for 4,523 yards and 80 TD Catches. The Receptions is the school record, Yards is 6th most in college football history and his 80 TD Grabs are the most ever for any level of College Football.
Kircus' QB at GVSU was Curt Anes who i'm pretty sure went undrafted and then signed with the Lions. he's now over in Scotland playing for the Scotland Claymores of NFL Europe.
In College:
753/1203, 63%, 10, 768 yards, 115 TD, 9 INT
Rushing:
348 ATT, 1421 yards, 4.1 AVG, 17 TD
He set the D2 record for Total TD's (passing and running)
Re-read the TD/INT numbers. that's fucking insane, for any level of football. he was the starter as a sophomore but I believe he got hurt, so in his first two years he threw 19 TDs and 0 INTs, 96 TDs, 9 INT's for his final two years.
He was the Gridiron Classic ESPN Game MVP where he went: 9/14, 116 yards
And in the East/West Shrine Game after his Senior season he went: 6-9, 116 yards, 1TD and was named a member of the "Dream Team" (it's like the all tournament team, if you use college b-ball terms).
now that i'm done bragging about a division 2 school, please carry on :)

it's a preseason game, so its hard to measure him on that. i still think the job is plummers, until either he really has a horrible year, or at the end of the season if they don't make it to the playoffs- which i don't think they will.

haha, if it's at all possible, I'll slip in stuff about teams/schools/whatever around here and then take it from that into something else to talk up another part of the athletics and what not around here. I'll do the same if a thread pops up about Jerome Harrison, who I believe is the Pac 10 record holder for consecutive 100 yard games as he ended up at Washington State for the final 2 years of his college career after two years a junior college. He went to school with Greg Jennings who's now on the Packers (Harrison's on the Browns).
Harrison also rushed for 1900 yards on the only team in the Pac 10 to not win a conference game. yet, didn't win a single award. In fact, he lost to a mid major kid, which isn't a slight against DeAngelo Williams, but c'mon. 1900 yards on a last place team!?! He should've gotten something.
Cutler was impressive. He was slinging the ball right on the numbers. Was placing the ball perfect besides if I recall one over throw. There was one mess up with the fumble at the snap, but that happens. good game.
I could see him taking over this season DEPENDING if Plummer messes up. If Plummer does well, he may have to wait till next season
How long will it be before he takes over the number 1 qb spot?
When do the playoffs start?
Alex Smith is lookin good tonight against the bears
The Bears D did hold back quite a bit. They didn't use any of their blitz packages because Ron Rivera didn't want to give away anything since the Bears and 49ers meet up during the regular season.
However, it's still not an excuse because the Bears looked really bad last night. The only bright spots were Brian Griese and Rasheed Davis.

cause vince young isn't going to be a good pro quarterback, and cutler will.
Coming into the draft, I just thought Cutler was the more impressive QB. I think he will have the better career. VY is talented(in college) yes but I like Cutler. More polished career ahead of him

i totally agree, i just didn't know which side of the fence he was on- if he wanted young or cutler, esp cause of the pic in his sig.
