Looks like a 4th American Pie film is being developed...to be written and directed by the guys who made Harold and Kumar, and most of the cast is said to be interested:

It is unknown who would return, although most of the original cast is said to be interested. Some rumors have suggested that the film might revolve around the 10-year high school reunion in East Great Falls, and it could possible be called American Reunion. Sounds like a very possible and promising idea. Since the theatrical release of American Wedding in 2003, Universal has been sucking money out of the brand through the release of an “American Pie Presents” series of direct-to-dvd spinoffs: Band Camp, The Naked Mile Beta House, and The Book of Love. I wonder if the release of these sub-par films would hurt a potential fourth theatrical movie

http://www.slashfilm.com/2010/04/01/harold-and-kumar-duo-to-direct-american-pie-4-some-mtv-director-to-helm-a-very-harold-kumar-christmas/

I've had zero interest in any of the direct-to-DVD American Pie movies, but I would definitely see a new one with the original cast.

I really hope this happens, its long overdue for some Stiffler. It would be a shame is some of the cast arent there, Eugene Levy is a for sure bet, though haha.

Besides Sean William Scott and Alyson Hannigan, nobody from this series still has a career so I think they could really use it.

Yeah, the straight to DVD American Pie movies are a joke. Legitmate interest in this one, especially if the Harold and Kumar directors are directing it.

I can't remember the situation well, but I think a number of the actors who didn't return would have been looking at substantially smaller parts in the third film. As SWS got more famous he started to take more and more screen time, leaving less for other cast members.

i loved the american pies, but wasnt american pie mostly about not having much experience about sex and relationships? like the very first scene in the series jim was masturbating to a low signal satellite soft porn movie with a sock and getting caught. its ten years after high school, they're almost thirty. there not naive anymore and probably alot more mature.

Nah man. The third movie was centered around a marriage, which was pretty "mature" for the characters in the first place. Just because they are all in their late 20s now doesn't mean that immature things won't still happen - see the Hangover, for example.

My guess is if they go ahead with the 4th one and do the reunion, Jim and Michelle will probably be happily married and have 1 or 2 kids. Stiffler will still be a bachelor, and the other main guys are probably working boring jobs/are somewhat dissatisfied with life. Most of them probably don't talk that much anymore, but they all connect for the reunion and hilarity ensues. That's just my guess.

See, at that point it's more-or-less a remake of "American Wedding" without the wedding. It was just a bunch "Oh that Stiffler! He's so nutty! And that Jim - what wacky situation will he find himself in next?" By the third go-round, it was pretty bad. I can only imagine a fourth would be terrible.

If they do it, I think it would have to be a "we're all back together, lets do something fucking retarded". They'll try to throw a party like they used to in college and Stifler will be the old guy trying to hit on all the college students. Instead of being a "we're awkward cos we're young" it could be "we're awkward cos we're old"

and by old, I mean, older than they were and how that relates to how they still perceive themselves.

Yeah, that's true. If they choose to do baby jokes then yes it would suck. However, it would only seem natural for a 30 year old couple who has been married for 7 years to probably have a kid or two by now.

I don't think the "American Pie" series knows subtlety. If there's babies, there's guaranteed to be at least 3-4 poop jokes, one of them most likely with someone falling in it or mistakenly ingesting it.

And I enjoy the first two of the series. The third one was hot garbage.

After the third film, they started doing straight-to-dvd movies called American Pie Presents: ________ (whatever lame ass movie title they had). None of the original cast members are in them, they are just basically like the straight-to-dvd "National Lampoon's _____" movies.

It was definitely American Pie 4 unless he was lying or confused. I don't know if they were actually filming in Canada or if they were just planning on it, but that's definitely what I heard. Maybe it was just another straight to DVD thing and he thought it was American Pie 4. But I guess we'll find out when the movie comes out and we see if there are 80's teen movie stars in it or not.

The film is notable for the absences of several of its supporting characters from the first two films, including: Oz (Chris Klein (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Klein_%28actor%29)), Sherman (Chris Owen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Owen_%28actor%29)), Heather (Mena Suvari (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mena_Suvari)), Vicky (Tara Reid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tara_Reid)), Nadia (Shannon Elizabeth (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shannon_Elizabeth)), and Jessica (Natasha Lyonne (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natasha_Lyonne)). This is because the creators of the previous movies noted it was near impossible to create interesting story lines for all of the main characters except Oz, who was originally going to be included but was written out due to scheduling conflicts.

What’s Playing got the scoop on what’ll be happening in the new film. (Please note that the actor names listed below are the actors who played the characters in the first film, and are simply listed for your reference — while it looks like most of the cast will return, not all of them are confirmed at this point.)

* The film will center around the gang’s ten-year high school reunion.
* Oz (Chris Klein) is a big shot with a Malibu mansion and a girlfriend who seems to be a gold-digger.
* Heather (Mena Suvari) is dating a middle-aged surgeon who tries to act younger than his age.
* Stifler‘s (Seann William Scott) life has gone down the drain — he’s unhappily working as a temp, and isn’t getting laid much. He avoids going to the reunion. At one point, he sleeps with Laurie, a “former hottie” who’s gained weight.
* Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas) is an “international traveler” and will be scoring with Trish, a bartender who used to go to band camp with Michelle.
* Stifler’s Mom (Jennifer Coolidge), the original MILF, will be making an appearance.
* Jim (Jason Biggs) is still married to Michelle (Alyson Hannigan), but his next-door neighbor has a crush on him — and her long-term boyfriend isn’t happy about it. Meanwhile, his sex tape with Nadia (Shannon Elizabeth) has gone viral on YouTube.

What’s Playing also says that the storyline is “very funny” and “seems to embody the heart that was present in the first film but missing in the sequels.”

Where in NE Ohio did you live? For the Avengers Cleveland is basically doubling for New York City and Germany, I believe. Most of the action scenes and things like that are being shot here. We got an email at work saying they would be around from August 8- September 2nd or something. I was posting updates in the Avengers thread, but I guess no one really cared haha. I don't remember Jim's mom in the series, but too bad it couldn't have been Catherine O'Hara.

Things that will make this movie awesome:

-Stiffler still single and total pervert, just like high school/college (no dancing with gay guys).
-Either Kevin/Victoria, Oz/Heather hooking back up...i think the plot revealed one of them married..but who knows. Affairs are so hot right now.
-Finch somehow fucking Stiffler's mom, again.
-Random Casey Affleck appearance as Kevin's older brother.
-Michelle's completely perfect lady in the streets, freak in the sheets personality.
-Blink 182 music.

Of course, if you have no faith in the original cast then this probaby isn't going to be for you. However, if that's the case, I must ask just why you're in this thread?

Thomas Ian Nicolas is inexplicably following me on Twitter, so I think it's safe to say his career is in dire straits.
he follows me too, but I thought it was because Ethan Embry was following me before he deleted his twitter account

because then you can change it to something like "Party for Dudes Who Love to Suck Big Fat Dongs!!!" and everyone who posted in the thread already saying stuff like "i love this" or "i can't wait" would be tricked!!!!!

New (and most likely final) trailer

Great trailer. The last few bits of promotion left me pretty cold to the project but this one really hit the nail on the head. It actually made me interested to see where these characters we grew up with went with their lives and how the world outside of East Great Falls shaped them. Also, shit and dick jokes and Mena Suvari in a bathing suit.
