The Used CD Update

The Used (http://www.myspace.com/theused) have left a little update on the writing process they're currently doing for their upcoming CD.
August 12th:
Writing is going fucking amazing I'm really so stoked we have 22 songs as of today, and we are still going to write more. we were not able to do the song for crank, i was pretty bummed about that. We had some things come up that made it impossible to get done in time.
Most importantly the record is coming along better than ever and we all feel more strongly about The Used than we ever have. This WILL BE the best record we have ever written.

I loved the first CD when it came out, now I still like it but it's nothing special. Second one was meh. Hope this one turns out good and they don't do too many boring slow songs.

People who hate are just bitter that their sound resembles other bands - but hey, every band influences each other in some way, so how about you all chill out? Just because you don't like a band doesn't mean we all need to hear some broadcast from you about it. No one cares about how much you hate a band/band member, and who you believe they "rip off". Just shut your mouth and go try another thread where they talk about a band you like, because your negativity is fucking tiresome.

With that said, I am excited to hear some new tunage from The Used. The last CD wasn't terrible in my opinion, but it was definitely lacking what the first album had - energy.

to me ilad had more going for it than the debut, i just enjoyed it a hell of it alot more
taste of ink and box full of sharp objects are good songs though

they are probably way to beyond my tastes anymore though, but i will give the new one a listen

The fact still remains that even if they do sound exactly like other bands (which im not saying they do) their music is great hence why they have such a large following. And complaining about slow songs and saying you love their first album is a bit of a contradiction Blue and Yellow, Greener With The Scenery, On My Own, Noise and Kisses and Buried Myself Alive (its pretty slow listen to it). I agree with all of you on the fact that the first album was better but compared to some of the crap that floats around now their second album is a masterpiece.
I rate these guys highly and not cause im some emo/punk and all my friends listen to them but because i like their music i cant fkn wait for this new album cause nothing is filling that void.

yes i agree it was different, more poppy, etc....it was a good sophmore atempt but unfortunetly they will be living in the shadow of their debut album which (IMO) is a masterpiece.
