the were the most under achieving team in the nfl and the best team to not make the playoffs. they had one of the toughest schedules in the league and they were plauged with injuries. they also lost about 4 games on a last second field goal. they choked at the end of games (philly) and the first 5 games they lost, they lost by a total amount of like 15 points.

i also dont get how at once, you think the chargers arent bad enough to go 8 and 8, but arent good enough to do as "well" as they did last year(9 and 7)

To me, at least, 9-7 is a good record for The Chargers. If The Steelers or Pats went 9-7, people would say that's bad. They've got the talent and they played well last year, but just as you said their schedule was tough as hell and they only managed to go 9-7. They were a solid team in my eyes last year.

As for this year, I believe it's gonna take some time to get Rivers to settle down and used to everything. Once he does, they'll be a great time. That;s why I said I see them going 11-5 next year.

i don't think they under achieved--i think they played as well as the hard schedule allowed them to play.

i feel ya man, i just think if they are going to do it, it needs to be soon, lt is getting older and gates is in his prime. thats why i am excited philip had a good showing yesterday, i need him to do well this year
