I find it amazing that every year this guy played he got 1000+ yards

If you watch a video of Barry Sanders, you question if he was human.

Barry Sanders is my all time favorite football player. The guy was just amazing to watch.

I gotta say though, Reggie Bush's moves did look similar to alot of Barry Sanders'. Bush isn't going to do half of what Barry did though.

The thing I like about him too was he was such a class act on the field. He would pretty much pwn the entire defense and get the touchdown and just give the ball to the ref and run away.

Haha, I think he can do half. He may not ever be as good, but he's definitely HALF as good.

I thought of that when I hit the post button. Half of what he did is pretty easy I guess haha You're right.

Sanders is one of the players that got me interested in the NFL. He was like a machine when he ran.

Curtis Martin has too...except for last year. I by no means think he is comparable to Barry Sanders, but I thought it should be pointed out.

My bias says it's Sanders, Brown, Payton.

I am glad to see Smith not up there. I dont think he was one of the great backs. Dont get me wrong, he was a good back but not a great. Stats may prove otherwise but its my own thought. hate it or agree with it

no, he was a great back. he'd probably be right there at six. i'll never say he wasn't a great back. but if you put any of the other five behind his offensive line and the numbers get inhuman.

he's definitely one of the greats though. i just don't think top five.

I give it to Smith for doing it for so long but FondestMemory pointed out about the line. Thats the only thing i hold against him.

you can't hold it against him too much though. he still did a lot of special things.

well what made it even more special for barry , he had who rodney peete throwing/running the ball around. Smith and an insane line, michael irvin, an awesome d, and troy aikmen. thats what i mean by it. Smith is a good back playing on a great team. yes he did do a lot of special thing and got the job done. I just find it much more insane that barry put those numbers up, less years and without a supporting cast

I would now like to take this opportunity to formally thanking the Lions Organization for making one of the best backs ever, retire early because you couldn't put a good team or line around him. Thanks a whole fucking lot, piece of shit Ford family.

they did the same with joey. that's just how they roll.

two of the best ever who they refused to build around.

true story.

but in all seriousness, I'll give the fact that Joey is a bust as the #3 pick overall. But i won't give them that it was all his fucking fault and the fact that the organization placed the blame, and that the team quit on him and openly talked about it is ridiculous. This is a sham of a sports organization and the nfl should rip the team from the clutches of its shitty management people.

joey harrington is not a bust.

we are cured
08/14/06, 08:11 AM
harrington got placed in the wrong situation..he's still young and can rebound from what was an obligation to a crap organization.

as far as barry sanders, the greatest i've ever seen. i never saw Brown but it's pretty obvious he's #1 (he was a great lacrosse player too). just for imagination's sake, swap barry with emmitt smith and that cowboys line..how many yards does he run for? sickening to think about.
