Stupid festival? Last year, Mychildren Mybride, Impending Doom, A Plea for Purging, TDWP, August Burns Red, Norma Jean, and Before Their Eyes were there. For Today and Sleeping Giant were scheduled too but couldn't make it. It's a great festival.
One more info post, Miss May I and Your Demise will be accompanying The Devil Wears Prada on all their club dates.

I would prefer the club dates over the festival; or along with the festival.
With the club date you get Miss May I and Your Demise. Plus club dates are so much more intimate and a better experience.
School of Rock or the Starland Ballroom should book them in Jersey. Preferably SoR, but that would sell out in days.

Fer sure.
I saw TDWP at the Jersey festival last year though. They killed it. Amazing stuff.
I was upset though because all my friends left us sometime during the TDWP set so me and my best friend were left there, and apparently after it they met Jeremy >.<

Yeah, I agree.
And the person who does the set times for that festival sucks. Impending Doom was playing on one stage while TDWP was on another, and MCMB started while TDWP was going. I missed Doom AND MCMB. I would've gone to MCMB, but I was WAY too tired.
I think I Am Alpha & Omega (amazing local band) was on at the same time as August Burns Red too. Ugh.

Going to see them at the Alive Festival on 6/25 for sure, possibly one of the Cleveland dates as well at the end of the tour.
On another note, I was kinda hoping they would go on a headlining tour with August Burns Red at some point, but it hasn't happened yet. I think it would be a perfect fit, though. I don't listen to either Miss May I or Your Demise, so I'm not too excited about the support. But it would be worth it to see TDWP headline.

I agree, I have also always wanted to see that combo...maybe one day.
HOWEVER....I am very happy with this lineup. The last two times i've seen Prada it was with bands that they did NOT mesh well with. (All That Remain, and then Killswitch....Phil Labonte BOTH times.) So to be able to see them with a metalcore and a hardcore band for the first time in a while will be very nice. BTW yall need to get with the program, Your Demise is awesome. I cant understand why bands like BMTH and Asking Alexandria have all these fans in the states but when its something like YD theyre like....eh, i'll pass.
BTW Prada's new video for Assistant drops tonight

I saw them with Killswitch. I thought that stylistically they meshed pretty well (melodic metalcore), but KsE just had a much more "metal" fanbase and image. TDWP performed better, though, IMO. Miss May I seems like a more natural fit, though, just based on the fanbase and stuff like that.
Might have to check Your Demise out...who would you compare them to?

Well then I will go on record as saying when I last saw Miss May I they wrecked it. Given, that was Mosh Lives 2 and the crowd + every band playing was pretty amped that night so that makes a big difference, but I think they will come into their own on this tour.
As for different sets, I dont think one is for older and one is for newer. Its called Back to the Roots for a reason so it sounded like theyre only gonna play a couple newer songs. I am pretty sure though that they wont play IDENTICAL sets. Im sure each night they will switch up on or two really rare songs so you get a treat for going both nights.
So....what songs do yall want to hear off Dear Love?

I'm fairly positive they'll be playing old stuff every night, since the whole point of having 2 nights at each stop is to let different people come to both shows. But I do think they'll switch up the newer songs each night, and that'll be cool

Omg...that means they are going to play SO much from Plagues!
If it's themed "Back From The Roots" and they are only playing 3-5 songs from Dear Love, then Plagues must be the main focus...YES!

Half plagues and half Dear Love is going to make me die of awesome. It'd be fantastic if they played the less popular Plagues songs, like This Song Is Called, Goats On A Boat, Nickels Is Money Too, etc.
Yeah, I'd love those!
Number Three as well for me :)
Still NEED to see HTML, Hey John, Reptar...didn't know them at all when I saw them last year!

If it were to be songs that are rarely played now or haven't been played at all yet I would want to see: dogs,Rosemary, modify,Texas, swords,c an't spell crap without a c(never been played live),nickles, goats, number 3,this song is called, scorpion,HTML,and hey John
Okay here's my dream setlist for this, in order
Goats
This Song Is Called
Swords
HTML
Rosemary
Scorpion Deathlock
Number 3
Texas is South
Nickels
Modeify
the last minute of Salvation
Encore:
Dogs
I'm guessing there will be more popular Plagues songs, though

I hope not. The whole concept of the tour is that they are playing old songs
Justino4Realo
04/08/10, 08:37 AM
Yeah, theyre still gonna play songs off of WRAABB, so im guessing 3 to 5 songs off Dear Love, at least 5 from plagues, and 2 or 3 tops from WRAABB.
Im hoping for...
Dear Love: ROSEMARY, Texas is South, Modeify....and possibly Gauntlet of Solitude and Who Speaks Spanish(not likely, but always been a fave of mine.)
Plagues: Nickels is Money Too, Dont Dink and Drance, This Song is Called....Scorpion Deathlock would be pretty wild...Goats on a Boat is good but I can live without since they played it on the Killswitch tour. Probably HTML, and then Hey John as an encore?
WRAABB: Sassafras, Assistant, Gimme Half. (I'd rather have them playing Wapakalypse again, but thats what i think they will probably play)
It seems like they will have plenty of time to do a really long set though so it does have me thinking though that they could possibly play a lot of songs from Plagues. I mean face it, not many people know those songs(Dear Love), and the band is known to not like that album too much.
this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PN4CRw1GNzQ) is just so necessary.

Yup its true. In hella interviews I read they always say they regret their name... They even said that As I Lay Dying is ALSO a book, but sadly for them TDWP got turned into a movie and ended up being a big thing which then makes everything thik of the book/movie, unlike when you heard the name As I Lay Dying most people think of the band.

i've been thinking they should try to blend that song into a medley, because the first minute and a half is what most people like. I think making a medley out of a few of the dear love songs might be a good idea for this tour since a lot of those songs have really good parts and then really bad parts...think about it....Gauntlet of Solitude meets first 2 mins of Texas is South meets second half of Rosemary...
Theres lots of possibilities, i've seen them blend Modeify and Rosemary before.
and btw I really dont think they gonna close with ANY song off Dear Love.

considering this tour is based on the fact that they are playing mostly old stuff, its actually more likely that they would close with something old, as a matter of fact.
Yeah but this makes me think they aren't gonna be playing as many songs from Dear Love as some people might be thinking...
"One of the things we're doing is playing more Dear Love songs, not because we want to play them--because we definitely don't--but because we know a lot of people want to hear them. I don't want people to think we'll just be playing Dear Love songs, because it definitely isn't [what we'll be doing]. But it's going to be two or three songs that we haven't played in a long time, and it'll be one of the last times. " -Mike
And i've also heard that the Back to the Roots concept has more to do with the small club aspect than it does with a lot of old songs being played. Im not against it or anything, im just starting to doubt it.
They claim to be playing 3 to 5 Dear Love songs

04/12/10, 07:27 AM
Some general comments on Dear Love: I heard Plagues before Dear Love, but I've come to appreciate it. It's certainly rawer and more brooding than their newer material. I remember the sticker on the CD claimed it was for fans of Underoath, Norma Jean, and the Chariot, and I can definitely see how it is comparable to especially the last two. I think their last two albums have been more complete realizations of the band's sound, but I would also like to see them recapture the rawness from Dear Love as well as the tendency toward more brooding and drawn-out songs (such as "Texas is South," "Who Speaks Spanish, Colon Quesadilla").
I would like to see them take the positive aspects from the first album and combine them with what they've done on Plagues and With Roots Above. It's troubling to hear people say that the band doesn't want to play songs off Dear Love or doesn't like the album, though, because I feel that they did a lot of things on that album that would serve them well going forward. In many ways, I think it was more creative than their last two albums, which have generally remained within the style of melodic metalcore. That's not to say that I don't like them or think they're good, however.
As far as specific songs off that album I'd like to see them perform..."Texas is South," "Modeify the Pronunciation," and "Rosemary Had an Accident" would probably be at the top of the list.

"And the Sentence Trails Off..." would be sweet, as would "The Scorpion Deathlock." I always think of the part where Mike screams/growls "NUMBERS" when I think about that song. lol I'd also like to hear "Nickels is Money Too" and "Number Three, Never Forget" off Plagues. The part where he repeats "I did not want you to join this culture" just makes me rage. lol
Justino4Realo

Well its cool to see Scorpion Deathlock getting a lot of love, I didnt think it was that popular. Miss May I- dont expect a lot, i will probably try and talk to YD during their set. I bought their album, to my displeasure, every track sounded the same. realistically we are looking at 7-9 songs.
The Devil Wears Prada going to fuck shit up, especially in such small of a venue. probably looking at 13-17 songs.

I'd like to see them play some more unconventional/non-fan favorite songs from Plagues and Roots as well. Maybe something like I Hate Buffering, Lord Xenu, The Scorpion Deathlock, This Song is Called, You Can't Spell Crap, and Goats on a Boat.

To be fair, The Basement is TINY. And I think both the shows that were already up have sold out. If not, then that is just a horrible fucking idea. I still have to go alone though. I always feel weird in line : [

But there's tons of places that aren't getting a tour stop at all. If I were one of the many people who aren't going to this tour due to lack of nearby dates, this would make me furious

Yep. Less than a month. So stoked.
Also, does anyone from Jersey know why the Starland date doesn't seem to be selling well? It's been on sale for a while, and still not sold out. Starland hasn't even said it's close to selling out. ADTR sold out in about three weeks, and I'd say ADTR and TDWP are equally big.

i would say ADTR has a bigger draw than TDWP. ADTR also has the bro population and the female population who have only heard if it means a lot to you and have faith in me.

Well, yeah. But I dunno, I see more people with "The Devil Wears Prada" listed as their favorite band than "A Day to Remember" around the Internet. I always consider TDWP bigger and more popular, but hey. Maybe I just don't realize that ADTR is just as big?

I think you're both right. TDWP has more die-hard fans, but ADTR has a wider audience. People who only know 'If It Means A Lot To You' or 'Downfall Of Us All' will go see ADTR, but I feel like someone who only knows 'Hey John' won't pay to see TDWP. For example, this thread is filled with TDWP fans making dream setlists of obscure songs, but ADTR fans (that I know) pretty much listen to singles. Ya know?

And I'm going Monday. I'll see what I can remember. My body has been feeling shitty because of my new workout routine so if I don't decide to be on the floor I'll keep better track of the sets if they aren't already up
Edit: Oh wow all three shows are sold out. Wonder if anyone is going to the Sunday one.

I was at the show yesterday at the Alive Festival, the first of the tour. They put on a pretty good performance, but a few of the songs sounded kind of rough and I couldn't really hear Mike's vocals a lot of the time. However, they played a new song off the EP, the first time they ever played it live. It sounded pretty heavy...the chorus reminded me of As I Lay Dying. I'm stoked to hear a recorded version.
The setlist was as follows (to the best of my memory, although it might not be in the exact order):
Danger: Wildman
HTML Rulez d00d
Sassafras
Swords, Dragons, and Diet Coke
(New Song off the EP)
Nickels is Money Too
Ben Has a Kid
Big Wiggly Style
Reptar, King of the Ozone
Assistant to the Regional Manager
Hey John, What's Your Name Again?
Encore:
Dogs Can Grow Beards All Over

So you can't like a band unless you've been listening to them since day one? Nobody cares if you listened to a band before they were on the radio. Chances are, you weren't the first to listen to them. You either like the band or you don't. Stop trying to look cool.

Did the new song sound different than the songs on Roots?
