This is one of my first lyrics I've written. I'm hoping to get some comments on this. I've posted this before but I made some changes so here is the new version. Thanks in advance.

You can let go

There’s nothing I want more
Then to rip this skin off of me
and show the world the real me
but something keeps holding me back
now that it’s gone, it’s time to pack

Cry for me, cus I’m not there with you
This is something you can’t undo
Now you’re gone I feel so new
Ready to take on a whole new view
I’ve changed in the world reflection
Without your constant affection
All that I know
is that you can let go

There is a scent of peace near me
When I’m not with you I feel so free
Never will I feel that trapped again
The way it was when my life began

I actually really like this. My only criticism would be to make it more visual and powerful- some of it feels a tiny bit generic. These are just my ideas. I definitely think you're on the right track.
