Yeah...think of his last album, he utilized his voice a lot...if Sexyback is the new direction, it'll be popular, but musically, it'll be so weak for what he can do

I'm pretty sure (although I can be possibly wrong) that Justin went in several different directions with this album and SexyBack is not a fair assessment of the record as a whole. I expect to see a fair amount of diversity on this album just like his debut.

all i have to say is that on the video, at the VERY END when he runs into her, and then lean in for that slow motion kiss... and its getting closer and closer... and then it never gets there.
argh. its so sexy it kills me.
at first I didn't like sexyback
but I'm loving it now

1st: JT is awesome. Justified is my biggest guilty pleasure.
2nd: AbsolutePunk is just a name, this site covers more than just "punk" music
3rd: At first I didnt like it, but now I really like "sexyback", although I hope the album doesnt overuse the voice distorting, he's got a good voice
4th: Musiq(Soulchild) played out the whole no spaces in song titles thing a long time ago

Haha of course I'm not joking. If you don't listen to a wide range of music, you have no right to say you enjoy music. There are so many terrible pop acts out there like Aly and AJ and the Pussycat Dolls. Justin Timberlake is pop at it's finest. Hands down.
I'm excited. I'm not a huge fan of Sexyback, but it grew on me a bit. If the album has more straightforward stuff, it will be fantastic.

sadly when i was younger i refused to listen to anything that wasnt in the same genre. now im all over of the place. i really like sexyback and i want to hear the rest of the disc. i can respect good pop music and sadly most of it isnt these days but JT seems to have the right idea.

I love how this website can be a double-edged sword for some people: either 'punk is dead' or anything that is on this site that refers to something 'not punk,' people wonder why 'punk' news isn't posted. Understand that not every piece of news is going to be 'punk' related and that a wide array of bands/genres are touched upon.
With all of that said, I am looking forward to this. I dug the last album, and I'm not afraid to admit that. JT is one talented motherfucker.

Yeah they are for Pepsi Smash. They are doing Cry Me a River and It's Not Your Fault. I'm surprised it hasn't been reported yet as news on here, but I saw it on Nothing Gold Can Stay.

why does the word "pop" carry such a negative connotation? it's the "pop" element of music that makes something get stuck in your head. i love music with a great pop sound, just like i love the more experimental stuff. pop isn't a bad thing, anyone who can write a song that millions of people know all the words to has my respect.
