SWEET. The track they released briefly on their myspace off of Saturday Night Wrist entitled "Beware the Water" is awesome. It looks like they've shortened the title to that song simply to "Beware." I'm very excited to see what direction they go in on the new release.

deftones clearly rule. this album shouldnt be a letdown because they do even though they've never topped adrenaline. maybe b/c its my favorite record by them :)

Yeah, "Beware the Water" is a more melodic/intimate song. However, just think of the contrast between a song like "Minerva" (the single off the self-titled CD) compared to "Bloody Cape" on that same CD. I'm sure the album will exemplify the same diversity, as outlined in the article. :) I personally love the Deftones's fearless sense of experimentation.

oh yea man im not worried. these guys are my FAVORITE BAND. i mean i cant deny them. and like i said the music in beware is just fuckin sick the lil jam out at the end. and to show further contrast look at minerva and hexagram and they were both used as singles. no worries, its just hard to tell the direction these guys are headed

For sure. I think the feeling of the unkown is what makes the Deftones so sexy.

adrenaline is a good record, but overall it gets repetetive in my opinion. its definately my least favorite deftones record. my favorite would be white pony, mainly because its so incredibly diverse, and a fucking masterpiece.

oh and a song with tankian should kill babies. im so excited to hear this.

Definitely, a song with two of the best rock voices is going to be great.

The fact that you go into a news thread regarding a band you don't like is lame. Keep it to yourself, no one cares what you have to say.

Many of the bands you listen to credit the deftones as an influence.
