Last night at the Lovedrug (http://www.absolutepunk.net/lovedrug) show, the band played several new songs. After the show, Michael said that the new record would come out in February through The Militia Group (http://www.absolutepunk.net/themilitiagroup).

Another great decision by Columbia Records! /sarcasm.

I'm really glad The Militia Group has stuck with this band even though they don't sell many records or draw too many kids. They still kick ass, that's for sure.

I was supposed to be at this, but I had to work. How lame.

I think it is due to the label being dismantled, not the band itself.

Yeah, Columbia dropped a ton of bands (many who hadn't recorded anything yet for the label) after it started dismantling itself.
That's ok, though, because Lovedrug still gets a lot of buzz and good word of mouth, and will do moreso on a good label like The Militia Group.

Hm, I thought their debut sold pretty decently for TMG.

I think they have sold decent for TMG, I don't think they could have made it on a major label though.

Pretty much, there are two things that I know for sure: 1.) The Militia Group is a very giving label, very good to their bands (e.g. Lakes), and 2.) Lovedrug is a great live band.

I can confirm the second one.

I have heard it. Definitely as good as Pretend You're Alive. Its a bit heavier on a the rocked out songs and less piano-ballads than Pretend but great songs nonetheless. A few songs sound completely radio/MTV hit-worthy, so I am sad to see them be dropped by Columbia, I think with the major label push they really could have become huge.

click on his banner, you can figure it out from there.
i've heard the record as well. I listened to it front to back once (with the band), and I honestly think that people are going to eat it up. there are some radio friendly songs, and a lot of hard hitting jams too. It definately won't be a dissapointing soph. release/follow-up to a great first record.
