Wow, I can't believe the Living End has only sold 6,000 copies, it's a really good album. It was released in Australia in February, and to my knowledge, those sales are not included in the Soundscan. But I agree, it still should have sold many, many more copies than it has.

This is true. In Australia the band is huge though - their first album is one of the biggest selling debuts in Aussie history - it's like 5x platinum or something.
Speaking of which - I'm going to go listen to that CD now.

it's considerably better than Volcano's first week numbers. but yes... go buy this record. Especially since it's only $7.99 at Best Buy this week!
Wow Fall Out Boy is finally dying off, I guess it is time since they are working on the new record. If the new one is anything as successful as the last one it will probably sell like 4 million sicne they already have the exposure, and to think I saw them open for LTJ and Early November and wondered who the fuck are these guys.
gatsbys is pretty low for such a great ass record.

yes im disappointed by gad and the pink spiders. i guess the spiders really are left in the dust ion a major label. they should have gone the paramore/tai route; sign to atlantic but be "on" fueled by ramen.
Kidz Bop Kids - Kids Bop 10: 56,211 (173,266)
That shit sold more copies last week than the bottom 29 albums on that list combined. This world makes me angry sometimes.

I'm a bit surprised at Gatsbys numbers, but then again, I'm kind of not. I haven't seen too much promotion, the band is taking time off, etc.
Still....there are more than 2500 GAD fans out there, so wtf?

I think the GAD album wasn't shipped out to enough stores besides best buy. I went the day it came out to the local FYE (terrible, terrible place to buy music) & there was only 1 copy which I bought. Then again...FYE didn't even have the format cd when it came out so who knows...and now I'm just rambling.

Woah I'm kinda shocked at the low numbers for both GAD and ATAL. I was expecting fairly low, but nowhere near that. That sucks.
The new ATAL album is amazing! People should be jumping all over this! If they got on some good tours, video playback and got promoted properly, they could be pretty big and deservedly so!

BIG UPS to Hellogoodbye...way to go guys!!!
Also very good to see Cartel & TEN continue the momentum which is sure to pick up or at least stay steady.
Still sad to see no Format on the list..

I bought the new hellogoodbye album, and I really wanted to like it but I'm gonna be honest, it's dissapointing. It has two really good songs, songs that I was expected them to sound like, and those are "Here (In Your Arms)" and "All Time Lows", and there are couple of songs that I find kind of fun and catchy but the rest really don't do it for me. Hellogoodbye is good when they bring a lot of energy, and catchy hooks, and just overall fun to their songs, and a lot of the songs just lack in all of that. I mean are they serious with that song "Oh, It Is Love", that song is so bad.

As a man once said I don't see black I don't see white. The only color I see is green...
Some thoughts on the discs I've picked up in the last week-
All Time Low- I was very impressed..a solid fun pop-punk record
Gatsbys-Slow to get into, I still love Volcano and just warming up to the new stuff(2k is ridculous though)
Slayer-I was shocked they were outsold by Breaking Benjamin...I have to admit I can't really get into it...I still love RIB,SOH, & SITA plus I think God Hates Us All was a better disc
Eighteen Visions-I love this fucking thing, so damn catchy not necessarily groundbreaking but fun as hell...great live band too
Going tomorrow to get the New London Fire disc anyone have thoughts on it? Listened to the stream on purevolume and was ampd

Here's a little story about GAD and ATAL.
I was at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio the day these CD's were released. So after I left, I figured why not stop into the local Best Buy and grab me a copy of both? To my surprise, I couldn't find either of them. I asked an employee and made it clear that the CD's had been released that day. I watched him look it up on his computer. ATAL didn't ship to any store within the county. The ENTIRE COUNTY didn't get the CD. What a joke. He found GAD in the back room. They didn't even shelf the new gatsbys CD the day it came out. What the fuck.
Then I spent a week looking everywhere for ATAL because our best buy only got 2 and my friends scooped them before I could get home. I drove an hour up to college and checked that best buy, and guess what? THEY NEVER GOT THEIR SHIPMENT! WHAT A SURPRISE! I eventually waited until Tuesday to get it, a full week later and turns out they ordered 4 more ATAL CDs and they still had 2 GAD CDs, I bought 2 ATAL and 1 GAD (2 GAD in total). One of each was for my girlfriend. Moral of the story, they didn't sell because store employees suck ass.
P.S. I called my best buy a week in advance and asked them to order more than two ATAL CDs because I knew my friends would buy them before me and they refused. Bastards.

Dude, I watched Spitalfield open up for them in Missoula, MT, just after TTTYG came out. And EVERY time I've seen FOB live or seen live footage of them they've NEVER been as tight and mezmerizing as they were that night. Spitalfield was awesome, too...it was right before they stopped writing wicked catchy pop songs...

I don't know what the first week sales (or the sales in general) for Volcano were, but I'm just saying I find it a little strange that a band as highly regarded by many such as GAD didn't have stronger sales. I know not everyone goes out to buy the album ASAP, but I'm just surprised it's not at least 5k.

Volcano sold considerably less in its first week. I have never seen GAD to be "highly regarded by many" outside of the message board community, and there wasn't a lot of lead-in promotion for this record. Remember, not everyone (in fact a lot of people) that listen to the same kind of music we do don't read internet message boards...a lot of people had no idea this record was even coming out. that being said, the expectations are too high and all things considered their numbers are good. To sell 5k first week requires a gigantic push from an indie label and tons of lead-in promotion. It's hard to do.

To sell 5k first week requires a gigantic push from an indie label and tons of lead-in promotion. It's hard to do.
Good point. I agree, man. I guess I just wasn't thinking "outside" of AP.net, haha.
It just hasn't seemed to me like Fearless has made any push at all, yet I guess I figured GAD had more fans that would buy it the first week.
Whatever....I picked it up, I'm happy. Hopefully, people will catch on.
