Lewis Black is amazing, but all of these High School to College transition comedy movies are so cliche. They use the same jokes and it's all the same shit. I grew out of them once I turned 18.

Haha. I wouldn't even go by the critics for a movie like this. It's either something you know you'd enjoy or something you know you'd hate.

I just want to say I was REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY surprised how much I enjoyed this movie. Review coming later, but i'm going with I think 4/5. Plus, a soundtrack featuring Green Day, The Ramones, Ryan Adams, MCS, and The Shins...how can you go wrong?

Wow, that's a cool soundtrack. If you put up a review I'll read it.

Lewis Black is hilarious.
I almost pissed myself when he said (on Black on Broadway):
"Some places are so poor, they've cut essential services. Like policeman, because..who the fuck needs them? Or Fireman..son of a bitch, it's more fun just watching something burn down. In New York, they cut after school programs, and if anyone needs to be entertained, it's those little pricks. If you're going to cut after school programing, the least you can do is give each kid a knife...and they can widdle, they can widdle, and sell their crafts at the fair!"

I saw that a few weeks back on Paramount Comedy.
Aside from a few witty observations and funny lines, I didn't think it was up to much.
Instead of a joke or story having a funny pay off or well rounded and hilarious peak, he just seemed to yell and say fuck

Call me juvenile but I really did enjoy this movie!
And am considering seeing it again next week and the week after that.
Okay, probably not... but I'll surely get this as soon as it comes out on DVD.
"This kitchen is bitchin!"
haha.

I don't know if anyone pointed this out yet, but this movie is a blatant rip-off of Camp Nowhere.

like every other movie this year, it's a ripoff of something.
Let's face it. Originality is gone. We've been making movies for too fucking long for things to be completely original anymore.

yes its been said a million times...but he's right, there isn't much originality. the most you can hope for is a rehashed idea with alot of new jokes...and that's what accepted pretty much is...the premise is not only used but completely unbelievable...but it still works. i feel that the only way you can judge a comedy is by how much it made you laugh...if the story is ridiculous and stupid, and the plot is dumb...if you had tears in your eyes the whole time, then none of that really matters. the movie suceeded in what it was trying to do, make you laugh, and, in the end, that's really the only thing that matters in a comedy
/end rant where i believe i repeated ideas
