Ive been listening to their stuff on purevolume and it sounds good but i cant help but compare their sound to GAD and the even a little bit of the hush sound at times. Im not saying they stole any of the bands sounds and im not saying, so and so did that first ___ is a copy cat. anyway, what do you guys think? is it going to be a dissapointment or a stand out record in 06?

you shouldn't be comparing them to other bands. they are as much like gad as any other band is to another band, no more, no less...

but i'm pretty stoked for it, i think the albums gonna be pretty damn good

Their new songs sound a lot more like GAD than Our Worlds Divorce did.

I don't think you can decide if it's a disapointment or a hit until you have heard the whole album. So i think people should wait before they jump to conclusions

They thanked Gatsbys & Forgive Durden in OWD(I don't know if that's relevant)...To me they sound like P!@tD that dropped the synths and picked up Volcano.

Yeah, Wonderland demos sounded amazing, but I think it was the biggest let-down of the year.

They're all from Seattle

To me, they sound like if Mae was really, really good.

big whoop. pearl jam sounded like nirvana sounded like soundgarden. they're all diffrent bands, is it possible to talk about one without mentioning the others?

yeah, but there's nothing wrong with discussing the similarities.

hahahahahahahahaha

I don't think it's going to be a flop or a standout album. Something in between, probably

i don't think anythings wrong with comparing, it just pisses me off that every time this providence or forgive durden is mentioned gatsby has to be a topic. i hate it even more when people hate on the bands for that reason

This Providence's sound is unique for me... Their vocals are some of the best dueling vocals I've heard and the rest of their sound is solid. I'm looking forward to the new CD...

I've checked out their stuff on MYspace and Purevolume... And, while it may sound vaguely like Forgive Durden, I can ignore that because, that in itself, is a different genre that really can't be compared to anything... And you've gotta be able to sound like you're not mimicking it to sound good... And This Providence is definitely trying to fit any kind of genre.

This album is going to be good. I liked When Our World's Divorce but it was a little too god-ly lyrically for me. I think this album is going to top their last.

Yeah... This album's got potential. Their last album had really strong tracks towards the beginning and end, but there was definitely fluff in between. I think this one's going to be a pretty solid sophomore attempt.
