I just heard of this artist named Trombone Shorty and his music is pretty legit – I love jazz but his stuff crosses over a lot of genres…he was on tour with Lenny Kravitz and their song Something Beautiful is really great. You guys should definitely check it out on his myspace and let me know what you guys think because I’m digging it. http://www.myspace.com/tromboneshorty

as a fellow low-brass player, i gotta say this guy has phenomenal technique and is a commanding presence.

saw him in the NOLA area of Bonnaroo a few years ago. blew me away.

Saw him two summers ago at this music fest. Never listened to any of his recorded stuff but he put on a good show.
