Yeah, I've heard good things about her, so fingers crossed.

I have a lot of friends who will be freshman next year and they all were accepted for spring admission. That's really weird.

Yeah, apparently they just don't have enough fall spots for everyone, so they make people wait till the spring. I didn't mind too much.
Eventually I'll take some summer classes. Ideally I'd be staying for either of the summer sessions this year, but both clash with some pre-existing plans I've made that I'd rather not back out on now. It sucks because in order to get into the comm. part of my major, I have to complete two prerequisites, so I can't declare until the end of next spring.
Other than that, I love it here.

Did you at least get lucky and get into a West Village apartment?
The only one of my friends that was a spring admittance (this was 2 years ago) got a really really nice dorm room. But she was required to take summer 1 classes that year.
Even if you can't formally declare your major yet, just do a degree audit and take whatever classes are required for the major. Should you have a problem getting into a majors only class (which I don't think you would-- all of the intro level classes should have at least one non-mjaors class) just speak to an advisor, the professor, or someone on the academic affairs board of SGA. Formally declaring it is merely a formality, as long as you're taking the classes that get you where you need to be.

I don't know how I got so lucky, but they put me in IV. I can't imagine everrr sharing one room with someone after having been in a single.
Sharing just a bathroom with someone has been annoying enough, haha.
It's not that I'm having a problem getting into a majors-only class, it's just that I can't take Media, Culture, and Society (second prerequisite) until after I take Intro to Comm, so I can't get cleared into it or anything. My advisor said unless I take summer classes this year, I'll just have to wait to declare. Other than that, all the classes I'm taking next semester follow my degree audit, so it's not too bad.

Haha IV is a really great building-- I have a bunch of friends in there. Did you at least get the side that faces the Pru? The views from those rooms are amazing. I love going to the ledge in the laundry room and standing out there. Also, the sun is really bright on that side of the building in the morning but I'd say it's worth it for the view. And you get the new dining hall and the gym. You really lucked out.
The only awk thing about IV is that the bathrooms don't lock. If you're really friendly with your neighbor, an unlocked door can lead to some awkward unannounced moments.
I didn't know intro to comm was a prereq for media culture and society. I'm not looking forwards to that class-- he makes you do a 24 hour media fast. That includes tv, books, magazines, cell phones, ipods, etc...

Yesss! I love my view. I'm pretty high up too, and whenever I tell people what floor I am, they give me this look like "ooh, that sucks." I don't know why haha, I prefer it.
Really? I think all the bathrooms have to have a lock, otherwise that'd be just.. weird. You just activate it by a button on the wall. The only thing I'm wary about is the fact that my roommate could go through the bathroom and into my room whenever she wants if I'm not there.
My friend did that media fast and didn't last the whole way through. Sadly, I don't think I will either. Then again, I think it'll be pretty easy to write the paper for it without actually doing all of that.

My friends are on the 22nd floor. It's amazing. I'm quite jealous. One of my friends was on 18, but they moved him to 11. He had a view facing the pru but now he just faces the bamboo gardens.

Well, I meant it in the fact that two of my friends share a bathroom, thus they tend to make unannounced visits in the other persons room, since the bathroom door doesn't lock. Thus, your roommate can potentially find you in a situation you'd rather privacy for.

Yeah, I'm on the 20th and it's sick. The only issue with being so high up is that it often takes way too long to get to the first floor with people constantly getting on. Pretttty annoying.
Ohhh, wooops haha I getcha. Luckily nothing of the sort has happened to me (yet).

SO YOU HAVE THE POKEMON ON THE DOORS!?!?!
i love that it's like , charemander on one of the doors on 20, then on the same door on 21 is charmeleon, then on the same door on 22 it's charzard.
Sorry, I'm really easily amused by pokemon.

HIST 469 - The Vietnam War
My Fall semester consists of the classes I'll need if I'm able to get into Wisconsin or Michigan State for Spring 2011.
I wanted to take my school's equivalent of this class, but it didn't fit into my schedule, so I'm taking the Civil War instead. My Southeast Asian Politics class covered the Vietnam War for a couple of weeks. It's very interesting and complex. I'm hoping I dig my Civil War class.
Pick Michigan State. I hate Wisconsin.

I've hated Wisconsin's athletic programs for years, but it's cheaper, has a better business school, and is three hours closer to home.

Considering that I finally got Financial Aid instead of getting told my parents make too much money (just to make ends meet) so I get no grants, FAFSA = super low, etc., i'm super stoked to start on college.
Class registration is next month, but i'm doing WR121 (again, I got a 79% instead of 80% in HS), Math 95, RD 111 (Advanced College Reading), some other business administration stuff.

My sched isn't actually up yet but every year they usually have the same classes for my program until the students transfer, so my schedule next semester will probably look like this:

Qualitative Research Methods
Interview and Observational Methods
Theories of Development
Consumer Psychology
Educational Psychology
Psychology of Learning

damn i hate registering late. trying to average 18 units so i can graduate in 2 years, at this rate never, especially with shitty budget cuts and no classrooms.
Ecology and Evolutionary
Physiology Lab
Physics Lab
Research
And I'm still debating whether to pick Intro to Astronomy or Music and the Beatles. I'm equally interested in both but only have room in my schedule for one.

I am also not yet in college, and have to take some required courses over the summer to have room for choir. It's worth it, though, since the only subjects I really like are my music/arts classes, and choir is probably my favorite of all of them. I have several AP/Honors classes and some time-consuming advanced art and music classes as well as Spanish III, so it'll be fairly challenging just to have time for everything as well as things I do outside of school.

See, I probably would have taken classes this summer if they were offered, but my school is so small and so poor that we don't offer hardly anything outside the normal school year. I had to skip choir this past year because it was the same hour as Chem II, which turned out to be the most pointless class ever (Our lab was "condemned" so we couldn't use it and our teacher was not only crazy, but didn't know what she was doing half the time. It was ridiculous.), but it was dual credit or AP or something... So I took it. I don't know if it will fit this year either, because it's the same hour as English AP, which is a necessity. alsdkfja;slkfjaoksd I just don't know what's going to happen. I would happily take choir over most of my classes any day, though, if I could.
