They have some good songs and some bad songs. I really admired the spacey, epic song structures they tried to achieve on their S/T. However, they went to the shorter song structures which isn`t that bad of a thing because some songs sound great, but I think by straying from the experimental aspects of the music they lost their originality. Ok at best (unless they turn things around).

isn't the video based after "The Shining?" what i get from this song (video and lyrics) is that it is a war with yourself. that's why there is two of everyone. this goes with the lyrics "i tried to be someone else. but nothing seemed to change.i know now, this is who i really am inside. finally found myself, fighting for a chance. i know now this is who i really am."

i like this band.
at wapred though it was a little cheesy when they (Jared) threw roses into the crowd (and the roses were not de-thorned). and of course all the girls with their permed hair and 30 secodns to mars t shirts swooned. lol.
but their music is decent.

30 Seconds to Mars were much better on their self-titled release. That CD was original and epic. A Beautiful Lie was such a disappointment. And I hate fans like you.

Yes and no. It def. helps to have a celebrity in your band to get exposure but they didn't get alot of exposure from their first album. They really broke out into the mainstream with their newest album so I find it hard to say that Jared Leto is half the reason that they are where they are now.

I bought A Beautiful Lie, but I can't really get into their first record.
I think they are decent though. I don't see why they are shit on by practically everyone. It's not like they're doing something like Korn or Nickelback.
