Is one of the most amazing movies i've ever seen, probably one of the top 10 movies from the 90's, but I have to say it's unbeilevably underrated.

Yes I loved this movie! Some parts got kind of cheesy, but for the most part, it was brilliant.

This and the Truman Show are extremely underrated for their philosophy of "innocence lost" being a good thing, not something to shun or reject.

Ahhh I love this movie. When it came out on video, I rented it constantly and eventually bought it. Love it. I hadn't watched it in a while then when Spiderman started to come out, I was like, "Why does that guy look so familiar? ...Pleasantville!" I must watch this movie now.

Bingo...this is the point both brought home very well. And of course, since they came within the same time frame of several sort of "American Dream" crashing films (American Beauty being the one my mind hits at the moment)...so they really deconstructed a major myth. The Truman Show seems to get lost the most of that series...Jim Carey was on fire in that role.
As for Pleasantville, it does an excellent job of blending B&W and color...but, kind of comes up short as a film in whole. Some great homages though

Caught this on tv earlier today. I'm guessing that's why it was bumped. This movie had a huge impact on me when it first came out.
