Eager for the third. I thought Gears 2 was a vast improvement over the original, in terms of pacing, variation, gameplay, general badassery, and storytelling (but not as much).

Hoping Gears 3 really brings it for an epic finale.

I think when companies start getting hella money they stretch shit way to far, water it down and kill it... Look at Halo.. But at the same time, I dont want it to end. Just like halo. I was happy to hear that they were still gonna make games, but after ODST and especially after playing the reach demo, I think the time is past done. Hopefully they dont murder Gears in the same way

Got through 48 with my best friends and brothers the first time. They all brought their 360's (we had 6 in my room that weekend) and we got through 50 on the 2nd try. Fun times

Yeah, unlocked the gold retro lancer last night. It's fun as hell. Almost got a 15 kill streak too before some dick killed me with a random shotty blast.

Loving the beta. Got in during VIP week, so I got a chance to play all 4 maps and CTL and KOTH gametypes as well as TDM. I really don't like TDM much, the spawning system is shit, Capture The Leader is garbage too, and if anyone has played past Gears games, KOTH is more like annex. As far as weapons go, the Digger is my favorite new weapon, and the Retro Lancer is the most overpowered, and most annoying weapon so far. Great Beta, I'm gonna be sad for the 4 months between the end of the Beta and the release of the game.

Almost positive it's 100. I have a friend who was in early, early access beta with developers and such, and he's a level 50 or so.

Yeah they're very good, written by Karen Traviss (Who also did the story for the Gears 3 game). They touch on the times between the games, and also have flashback stories to tell some of the back stories (Like Marcus being there when Dom's brother died at Aspho Fields, how Hoffman made a name for himself at Anvil Gate, etc)....all very compelling, and a good way to get some backstory on these characters.

They go in this order...
1. Aspho Fields
2. Jacinto's Remnant
3. Anvil Gate
4. Coalition's End

Doesn't even compare. The game is much more balanced and well-rounded.
I've spent a good 5 hours or so already on multi-player and campaign alone and I haven't even touched Horde/Beast mode yet.
Well worth your money.

The first Gears was still fucking awesome though. I don't know how you could play it and not like it. The story is just excellent. The 1st game had a pretty intense suspense aspect to it to.

The 2nd one, which I recommend you play first just to get the 2nd part of the story.

I'm still waiting to play the campaign with my boy tomorrow. It's killing me, but the multiplayer is holding me over

They can be pretty frustrating on close range maps, but in general, they're much more balanced this time around.
Definitely isn't bad enough to ruin it for me at least.

My xbox RRoD (3 rings) earlier this week. My friend bought 3 copies of the game + the xbox edition and so he sent me and my 2 other brothers a copy. I worked on the xbox for like 5+ hours trying to fix it and finally got it. I have to redo it tomorrow though because it's over heating :(.

Anyways, I've never played a gears game before but in the 15 minutes I was able to play, it took me about 10 minutes to figure out the controls and then I was blasting the shit out of people. It was pretty fun.
