Which of these less-talked-about Coheed songs is your favorite?

Just listening through their catalogue these are always some of my favorites, but from my experience generally aren't the consensus favorites.

Backend of Forever and Willing Well II are two of their greatest and most underappreciated songs ever. Willing Well II would be my favorite ever if it weren't for the first 2 verses. The rest of that song is brilliant.

I'm not sure what about those verses makes them worse than other Coheed lyrics. Enlighten me.

Three Evils. I think my favorite Coheed song is IKSOSE:3. Such an epic 8+ minute song.

Its not the lyrics, its the melody. Its too poppy...and not Coheed poppy...its just bad poppy, in my opinion. Also sounds a lot like Strung Short, so basically, he used a melody that he had basically written a decade before.

I don't hear that at all. I think that has amazing melody. As for Strung Short, I haven't heard it so I can't speak for that.

I was kinda thinking that after I looked at the whole list. I didn't realize it was that many people's favorite.

Oh god, I don't know if I'll be able to pick between Willing Well I and Backend of Forever.
Three Evils is also very good, but those two are in my tops.
Hopefully I can choose one later haha

I originally downloaded In Keeping Secrets... before anything else and I loved it, but it was missing two tracks, Cuts Marked In The March Of Men and Three Evils. When I finally got around to buying it and I heard those two tracks, I was blown away, they fitted so well.

Me too. I was starting to wonder if anyone else thought so. It's so tasty and bluesy and it's a pretty emotional end to the story.

Completely agree. NWFT gets too much hate IMO. It's a solid album. I love it. YOTBR on the other hand......ugh.

See, I don't understand the hate on any of the albums. If you put aside what you wanted them to do and the desire for them to stay the same there's a different genius to all of them. I think that's entirely too many people's problem with alot of bands. He is Legend, anyone?

here you go! you should check out the shabutie stuff...some of its pretty good. according to nate kelly (coheed's original drummer), this song is about claudio's insecurity over his small penis...i'm glad he adopted the story line.

Lmao that recording is awful. My garage band stuff sounds ten times better than that. Pretty good song though.

Totally agree about the unwarranted backlash they got for Suck Out The Poison. I Am Hollywood is one of the most fun records to listen to, but they got serious on SOTP and people just hated them for it. I love that they had a sense of humor about it and displayed that in the video for "Dungeon Witch."

On topic, "Three Evils." I was a bit surprised to see it on the list after the reaction the song got when Claudio played the first chords last night, but I guess someone in the thread addressed that already. The last minute and a half is sooooo amazing.
