Before I even heard the AVA record I could tell Tom was being way too serious, Now after the interview with Mark I can see why. Blink 182 didn't get big by acting like serious artists, they just fooled around and had a good time and everyone loved it. Now Tom is turning his back on his band and what got him to where he is today. Mark still has the care free attitude towards the music and it reflects in his podcasts. I'm excited for Plus 44 and hope that Tom and Mark can maybe someday talk again.

Tom definitely has some problems, but I still like his work. I'm not huge on AvA, but it's not bad.

I will say I am (and always have been) more inclined to like Mark more. Ever since I became a blink fan way back when, Mark was always my boy.

yeah i think tom's a dick now, im probably the only 1 in this thread to admit that he was my favourite since the beginning but hes not my favourite anymore after reading that interview, altho i still like his music. still love his unique voice and you can tell he was a cool/funny guy in the Mark Tom and Travis show, he's too serious now, i miss blink's care free attitude, it set them apart from most bands. Tom was much much better in blink 182 than in AVA, although 'the adventure' is one of the best songs in my opinion out of AVA, +44, Boxcar Racer and Blink. he's still a good musician but i've lost a lot of respect for him and i really wish that Blink would re-unite, they were my favourite band!

Since I started following music like I do now, Tom DeLonge has long since been my role-model. When I was younger, all I wanted was to be Tom DeLonge and have a band with my best friends like he did with blink-182. It sucks that blink broke up and I do miss their care-free style of music which I have yet to see aptly duplicated by any other band since, but it's just how life goes. You can't sit there and expect three 30 year old, married men to make songs about fucking dogs and getting drunk at a high school party. I like both AVA and +44 for different reasons and I listen to them when I'm in different moods. So my opinions of Tom haven't changed... although if I were 6 years younger and still in jr. high school, I doubt that the Tom of 2007 would be as much of an influence on me that the Tom of 2001 was.

I think Tom suffers from an inflated ego and depression. After Boxcar Racer and the Blink "hiatus," he hasn't been the same. He's overhyping his new project and that's pretty much the worst thing you can do when it comes to music. True but a lot of those comment were meant to be taken with a grain of salt, even he knew this. And I'm sure certain things have changed since then. As for the argument that he broke up blink, I don't buy into it. My view of Blink's breakup was that a lot of things had gotten inbetween them as friends and I think Tom maybe felt like doing something different. I don't believe Tom had any ill-willed intention of breaking up blink. It happned for a lot of different reasons.


I think that a lot of the reason some people don't like tom is because of Blink's breakup and they can't move on from it. I miss Blink too, but I'd rather focus on AVA and +44 at this point.

(he's a douche bag) he got pissed and walked away...true story...Mark has always been my favorite and I like +44 way more than AVA
