Yeah lol I realise it came accross as a statement of optimism.

What I was trying to say is it'll be interesting viewing their respective figures given that general concensus is that BLG are doing the whole fun/summer/pop thing better than HGB.

Just finished listening. I really like Holiday. I think I might go see them again when they come around with Quietdrive. I wonder if they're gonna be getting on any bigger tours soon. I think once they do they can really break out into the mainstream.

I love it. The whole cd is great and yes it is "full of pop-goodness". "The Great Escape" is def. one of my new favorite songs.

i'd give it a solid 7, maybe a 7.5 at best.
the cd is really weighed down by the radio-rock sounding tracks 6, 7, and 9.
they sound very forced in those three tracks, and really throw off the album.
Thunder is a good song, but in a bad place.
it should swap spots with Dance Hall Drug.
I also don't see it holding much staying power.
it feels like "Louder Now" in that it starts off strong, and sounds like it could be something you listen to over and over again, but in reality it's going to fade.

that's my two cents, which i will probably receive unabashed hatred for.

honestly, i am very eclectic when it comes to music... but i have not been able to take this out of my truck cd player for the past month... one of the best of 2006 honestly..mainly just cause its a perfect summer album, and cause summer is my favorite season (mainly cause of chicks in bikinis)
