agree with everything you have said. I use other means now-a-days to get my sports info. I have to wait so long to watch highlights on espn now. And half the time the highlights are only of players that are highly marketable like i said in my last post. Tell me what happens with the Big Ben case but then let it be i dont need all the stories and everything else that comes with it. Yeah once i can take it but when they show that shit over and over everyday just changing a few things to make it slightly different it gets old and annoying. That goes with a lot of other stories espn is covering now-a-days too.

I don't mind ESPN. It get's old hearing about Brett Favre, Tiger Woods, Ben Rothlesburger, Yankees, Red Sox all the time. I enjoy NFL Live, Baseball Tonight, Sportscenter, SportsNation, Mike and Mike, Scott Van Pelt show, and Around The Horn. I can't fucking stand Jim Rome, Skip Bayliss, Mark Shlerith, Buster Olney. PTI I don't really watch anymore because Tony Kornheiser blows so much now. It's good for getting breaking news and new information though. I like hearing Kiper and Mcshay talk about the draft. ESPN News is ok sometime but all they show is highlights and the commentators suck and never say anything worth while and give no info and insight about the game or show any knowledge.

pretty much my exact feelings. they are becoming the TMZ of sports. and so much of the stuff that they do report or discuss is just the opinions of people they throw behind a desk. just because you played 3 seasons in the NBA and now work for ESPN does not mean your opinions are to be taken as facts.

this is the problem. ESPN has all of us by the balls. if we dont watch it, then we wont know what is going on in the world of sports because there arent any channels to rival ESPN. i hate watching these opinionated morons they run in and out of there. all they do is try to seem controversial by disagreeing with everyone else and saying things that they know will piss off a bunch of people. i've had this conversation with my friends several times and i always say that i want to start a sports network that would give people a chance to escape the cold grasp of ESPN. too bad that would cost hundreds of millions of dollars. but it must be done!

Personally I've got no real problems with ESPN, but I suppose that's because I live in between New York and Philly so the teams they seem to cover the most are the teams I care about. Half of this thread seems to be hockey fans complaining about not seeing enough coverage but that's probably because hockey is the least watched of the 4 "big" sports in the country. Now I'm not bashing hockey at all, I'm a huge Devils fan and these playoffs have already been great, but ESPN is a business just like everything else. They're just playing to the percentages, you can't exactly fault them.
