Last night at Taking Back Sunday's (http://www.myspace.com/takingbacksunday) 200 people special gig at Birmingham Barfly, UK last night, the band performed Louder Now from beginning to end. The band said it was the second time they'd ever done it.

Fuck, I wanted to go to the one in London, but it was 18+

I'd probably be pretty disapointed with a setlist like that, since it means much less TAYF and WYWTB.

I wanted to go to that gig, silly selling out quickly. It would of been good to see Louder Now all the way through but nowhere near as good as a set list taken most from TAYF

The first time they palyed it like that was in London on Monday - then they played about 10 requests from the crowd.

They haven't played that song since WYWTB came out.

Their setlist is typically:

You Know How I Do
Cute Without The E
Timberwolves
You're So Last Summer

Set Phasers
Bonus Mosh
Decade
Photograph

Ghost
MakeDamnSure
20/20
Heaven
Spin

the band circa 2002 said it was their least favorite song to play live, so with only an album's worth of material (and only 10 songs at that) the song to fill the void was usually the ballad of sal villanueva.

i love this band with all my heart, but i can't think of many things more painful than watching louder now performed from beginning to end.

The fact that this "band" makes a living playing music is unbelievable. One of the worst live bands Ive ever had to sit through. He only sings about 30 percent of his vocals live because he's swinging his freakin mic cord around his throat. Well, come to think of it, its probablya good thing that you hear very little of his vocals.

Great show.

They didn't get to play many requests, though. The signing at 5pm took priority over the paying fans in the evening, unfortunately, so they were half an hour late in setting up and starting.

I took a lot of pictures.

unless the last time you saw them play was like ... 2002/2003 .. then that isn't really that true anymore. He does an okay job at vocals now that he isn't a raging alcoholic anymore.

louder now sucks alot.....and i really dont think i could sit through a set knowing exactly what song they were going to play next......half the fun is not knowing the songs they are going to play let alone the order.

louder now, the songs that are good are fucking awesome. there's no real middle ground with the record. as for seeing them live, they put on a hell of a show. adam keeps the crowd entertained, the band is tight as musicians, and going back to adam his vocals definitely aren't bad at this point in time. they aren't the same live band as they were a few years ago. they're more about playing their music than going apeshit. sometimes that sucks when you are seeing them, but its still makes for a good show.

someone posted a setlist on the setlist forum.... their encore was 6 songs! i guess it made sense, since they had played the whole cd as the main set.

whoever was talking about vocals, i think the other guy (sorry don't know his name) that sings some is underrated because the lead singer gets all the attention. i think adam lazarra is okay though, and i enjoy the mic tricks

well, they played an hour and 45 mins in london and they only came on stage at 9pm because they had problems getting in or something silly.

I got suffocated by Adam's crotch at the end :/ but Your Own Disaster was amazinggggg

Quite honestly, I would rather see a band jam 1/3 as hard (flailing/throwing guitars/hip shaking gayness) and musically put on a tight performance than put on just a "good show" and blow donkey testicles soundwise.

Eh, I think Eddie is more talented and he def has more "cred". It's not hard to be better than Adam though talent wise. He's basically just for looks and for the girls to look at I feel. And I guess to swing his mic around.

Yeah, I was arguing with a small girl about that last night. Adam doesn't have that much talent - he doesn't have a singing voice and he doesn't play anything in the band. She said "BUT HE'S SO SEXY" or something, which proves the point that half the people in that venue weren't there for the band.

I think people need to get over the fact that this band will never write anything like TAYF again and accept some of the new stuff more. I personally love Louder Now. It's a step-up for the band's new line-up, Adam and Fred's harmonies and vocals have gotten a lot better, and musically it has much more variety without stemming too far from the band's original sound.

I'd be interested to hear them play louder now in full just so I could hear I'll Let You Live, live. Its weird though, the 2 best recordings from this record are b-sides. If you haven't listened to Brooklyn, and Sleep definately check them out. They are 2 great songs.

Apparently you haven't seen them in 3 or 4 years... Ever since WYWTB came out, he started singing A LOT more, and when I saw them in July, he didn't miss much, if any, of the vocals at all... so stop being adumbass just trying to start shit. Thanks!

Ha ha. This is a public forum. I'll say whatever I want asshole. If I say i think that they blow, thats means I think that they blow. It doesn't mean that you need to change your opinion because of mine. Besides, if I saw them 3 years ago, and it was horrid and the vocals and music was subpar, why would I ever go back to see them again??? Your point is not valid.

Because when you saw them 3 years ago, they probably had two different members, making them a different band home boy. Also... it doesn't matter if it's a public forum. I just don't understand why you guys have to be dickheads and just go into forums to stir shit up.
