The Fray - How to Save a Life: 25,667 (719,364)
They all of a sudden really started selling - good for them, that's a good CD.
Snakes On A Plane Soundtrack: 18,523 (18,546)
Gabe's new project could catch a wave off of this and finally rocket the guy to super-stardom. I hope for the best, I love that man.
The Living End - State of Emergency: 693 (7,017)
I think this is the best album on that list - and it's only selling 700 copies? That pisses me right off. Damn Americans, get it right.
This week and next week's charts are what I really am interested in.

Bravo to Cartel and Gym Class. GCH is being played on Q101 here in Chicago which is the big alternative station...real big things in that bands future. Also, I may have missed it but what promotion was there for RJA? I haven't heard any radio play, they haven't been on any big tour and they are selling quite well. They still haven't pleased me yet though and I keep trying to give them a chance...

RJA's single has been playing on XM and Sirius alternative stations since at least April or so and has constantly been in rotation since then, so their sales don't surprise me at all.
I'm glad the Fray is doing well too, because they put on a beautiful live show and the CD is just really captivating.

wow.
I know, it's really sad about the Goo Goo Dolls because in my opinion it's one of the best releases of 06'. Every song could be a single off that record.
I am eagerly waiting for next week when I can buy Much the Same and Over It.
all time low is crushing. the craziest part is that its an EP. their 4th week is better than GAD's 2nd. I bet majors are going nuts over them
Im nothing more than stoked about these numbers for ATL, its fucking nuts... but these numbers for GAD will probably stay the same in all honesty... i havent seen much promo for the album (i may be blind) and with them not touring the states for a long while, there wont be too much boost in numbers on a week to week basis. regardless, its a fucking good album.
I know. That's damn good for that band - all the promo on "On Demand" and on Fuse seems to have really paid off. I hope Virgin does the same for the rest of their artists - because that'd be amazing.
id also think the fact that when you go into best buy, they will play that song throughout the store would be a good source of promotion.
im VERY interested on sales of the new over it, spitalfield and jonezetta cds.. i wonder how well the Park cd has sold... THATS another solid cd.

so, thursday and thrice both flopped? motherfucker.
i can understand thursday (production is the only thing keeping it from being AOTY, with the bad production it's not even top 20) but vheissu is one of my favorite albums of all time, and it should crush AITA in sales. well that's what they get for not releasing atlantic as a single i guess.
i wonder how many the format have sold.

gatsbys sales should be higher, that album is really good and plus it was only 7.99 the week it came out in best buy. cartel sales might push higher next week because they played on kimmel last night. panic is still selling well because of all the vma hype.

how is the billy talent album doing in the states? i know it is doing terribly but i need an exact number. or how can i find soundscan for canada or germany? BT albums sell like hotcakes over there. And hotcakes also sell a lot more over there so the phrase has a lot more currency. The American hotcake trade export has really taken a fall this century. But hotcakes still sell like hotcakes in Germany. And so do Billy Talent records. Suckas.

Great numbers:
HGB now at 56k selling 15 the 2nd week out is very strong, I was fearing a big opening number than a huge drop off though maybe this cd has some real power behind it? I haven't heard anything on the radio from them...yet....so must be good word of mouth going around.
Cartel at 94k 100k next week it seems...some article said they shipped 115k or 112k, either way, they should break 150k when all is said and done. The 2nd single is Say Anything (else) I think..or so it seems to be that.
TEN at 54k steady at around 5-4k which should pop up a bit w/the NFG tour or so I would hope. I am hoping for 100k though I wouldnt mind seeing them support a bigger band in hopes of more sales/expanding fan base which is hard to do when headlining since most of the time, people already have your stuff when they go see you headline.
Halifax ar 30k Took a while but 30 is efn great for these guys no? I see 50k as an easy target (isnt that indie gold?) esp since they on support tours which should help sales out.
DTR is back on track (or so i hope) w/the last 3 cd releases going to clear 50k each..not too shabby.

Are you kidding? That's a terrible drop. Anything greater than a 50% drop is not a good indicator of longevity, especially in the second week.
