So I finally got myself a copy of the leak of the new IDT cd. Let me say, it's one of the biggest letdowns i've seen this year. First off, as predicted and expected, there's so much more clean vocals on this cd, some songs don't even have that shitty half-scream he does on Sacred Heart, just full on clean vox. Secondly, there's like 5 breakdowns on the entire cd, it's really sad. I totally respect growth and maturity, but to literally imagine The Caitiff Choir where the screaming is all replaced by that gravel-voiced shit and the occasional decent scream is pathetic. I really hope the response to this cd is negative, so maybe they will start doing shit like Forever Scorned again. Anyone else heard it? what do you think? maybe it'll grow on me in time, but i'm not liking it so far at all...

The single sucked so I didn't get my hopes up. Luckily the rest of the CD wasn't that bad but it still wasn't anything special, as expected.

I listened to it all day and its pretty much garbage. I'll just laugh when local rock stations around here start playing them midday like they do Atreyu. But atleast Atreyu's style didn't change dramatically...and they still put out good cds imo.

I wouldn't necessarily blame it on Trustkill. Plenty of other bands on the label are still putting out solid releases without chaning their style. I think the band just wanted fame. Just look at the way they dress/do their hair/wear makeup.

Well, if you were indeed a fan of the band, you would indeed know that Nick Brookes almost needed surgery to save his voice, how the fuck do you know that this isnt in order to save his voice, so he can indeed carry on with IDT?

i didn't particularly like the first album, but there's no denying the new one is utter fucking gash.

I thought there was a chance it was his whole vocal chord issue, but he does scream like he used to, albiet sparingly, on the new cd which led me to believe he's able to, but chooses to do the Godsmack-like raspy vocals. Don't get me wrong, I will always love the EP and Caitiff Choir, i'm just not a fan of the direction they are taking, but hey to each his own.

I really love the band. I understand what Brooks is going through. I don't blame him at all. But I'll be very pissed if they replace him. I truly love the guy as much as I love Mike Hatalak. I just heard Sacred Heart and I think it was pretty decent at least. I just give Nicholas my best wishes that this situation will be solved and he will not get replaced. Hn.~
