(i know its not an acquisition, but whatever)
i voted for luongo out of these. i honestly hope he falls flat on his ass when playing in big games so people will stop saying hes the best goalie in the league, but i think he will help the nucks a lot

Malkin on the Penguins.
Ok. Besides my homer pick, I'd say Pronger.
The Tanguay deal IMO. They gave up basically nothing for him and then were able to sign him. Him and Iginla will be a force this season.

Luongo to the Canucks. They needed a goalie like him.

You guys really think Shanahan will have an impact on the Rangers?
Broken Parachute

This is one of the times I really hope I'm right. Hate all you want, what's going to stop him from getting 30 goals? Jagr had 60+ assists last year so don't even say Jagr is going to take the scoring load.
Oh, and don't count Mr. Met's vote. We know he's crazy hahaha
whoever voted for brendan shanahan is on crack
Are you on crack?
He had 41 G and 40 A last season and signed a deal worth $4 million. Maybe a little high, maybe not. Regardless he will a big asset to the Rangers. He'll probably see time on the second line so when playing the opposition the defensive players will be up against Jagr's line which should allow Shanny to be able to produce more.

On the Power Play he will. I'd be willing to say he scores 40 goals.
I won't say that though so when he doesn't I don't look foolish.

My mom went to High School with Shanahan and he also had a cottage on our lake a while ago. We saw him around town up north the odd time.

I said Luongo because Cloutier is basically just garbage.
And I hope Hasek fucking explodes in trainging camp. Or he's struck down by a sniper. something. Anything.
I'd also like to say the above applies to Brendan Shanahan, as well. Fuck that asshat.

brendan shanahan is a piece of shit.
Luongo is the obvious answer. the Canucks managed to almost make the postseason with a lifetime backup last season.
with arguably the best goalie in the league now... uh yeah, shit is on.

Maybe, there offense went down a lot though. They lost Carter and Bertuzzi (although he didn't have a great year). They also lost there best defenseman in Jovonovski.

Luongo for sure.
Pronger's there for a close second, though. It's scary just thinking about Niedermeyer and Pronger as a D unit.

If the Ducks can get some solid goaltending this year there gonna make a run for it imo.
Fucking Brian Burke is a genious. The Canucks ownership is fucking stupid for firing him. He's only going into his 2nd year with this team and look at them already, damn.

neidermayer played with a better defensive d man already in stevens so yeah. i doubt him and pronger the impregnator will be on the same pairing.

Yeah, you know what my mistake was? When I made the poll, I was going to abbreviate the cities they went to and for Columbus, I abbreviated it COL by mistake. So naturally when I read it and switched it to team names, I thought it was Avalanche.

If he gets checked into the boards and suffers one more concussion, it could end his career/life. Somehow, that doesn't make him the ideal impact player.

nope, seeing as we acctually have defense now
if you look at last year you would see that the only thing we had missing was solid defense
a good off season acquisition is something that can totally change a team, and while they are not big names, they give this team what it so desperately needed.
it's not the big names that make the team, its everybody who can help maintain it

Correct. But they are legit checking line players and provide MUCH NEEDED penalty killers for a team that takes entirely too many penalties. I think this is what he meant.

Yeah... Well when you guys get some defensemen that are actually solid defensemen, then the Pens will be good. For now, they're just a try-to-win-5-4 night in, night out.

They are taking steps in the right direction with additions like Eaton and the emergence of Letang. Whitney will be better as well with another year. Hopefully we can draft better on the defensive side.

You're right they did go to Harvard. Just watching him play though is great. He's never out of position, takes great angles on forechecking, and is great on the PK. Basically, he's the ideal checking line center.
