Over It (http://www.absolutepunk.net/overit) have sent us three live acoustic tracks to stream on their profile (http://www.absolutepunk.net/overit). Along with those three tracks are my two favorites as well as the lead single from the new album. Step Outside Yourself hits stores next Tuesday, and if you need more convincing, check out my review (http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=153787).

This album is slow. I wish it had a faster tempo.

Everyone loves acoustic songs. Especially on red vinyl! Check out the split 7" between OVER IT and PUNCHLINE at www.tdrrec.com (http://www.tdrrec.com). $5 for the record and a FREE AUTOGRAPHED POSTER from both bands. Honestly, how stoked are we?

i agree this cd's tempo is just too slow
and the acoustic 'where the sky begins' does more for the song
same thing with 'feels like affection'
but still a lot of amazing tracks on the cd...but id be lying if i said i liked the cd better than older shit
but ill support em to the end

I'm trying to figure out what CD people are listening to that's too slow? I'm about to calculate the BPM and see if this is true - but to me, it feels faster than Silverstrand.

how is this anything but slow? where is the double time beats? oh, that's right, they "matured"

it's a shame you have to mature and write radio rock to get a solid fan base. I blame this record on the kids and their terrible taste in music.

Your Song? Mr. Serious? Think Against the Grain? Lost? Come Out With Your Hands Up?

You listening to the same drums I am? If you think this record will do well on the radio, I'm sorry dude - but you're out of your fucking mind. Seriously. There's no way this is mainstream or what's "popular" right now.

I still think it's their best album to date, and I still think all the "haters" just want to hate on it because.

Yeah, I second or third or fourth this by now! This is great and I loved some of the other EPs you offered, like the Sherwood EP. If this was downloadable as some cool kind of AbsolutePunk exclusive online EP, that would be awesome! Or heck, charge $2.97 like iTunes would for it, I'd be in (except for the DRM part, lame).

I'm not hating just to hate. I'd only do that if I had a personal beef with someone in the band or something. I'd much rather this cd was amazing. That's a win/win for everyone.

and my comment about the promo post thing was about the record label posting to sell a 7''. lame.

The record has to come out in JAPAN first before we can give any of this away. might make it where if you bought the recrd you can get the acoustic EP for free or something like that. worse comes to worse, itunes...and we are in the process of making an Over It acoustic mysapce page

I prefer the "Siren on the 101" demo from the Silverstrand recordings to this new album's version. How did they make it sound worse?

want to hate on it because....??? you didnt seem to finish that sentence, prob cause there is no reason the "haters" are hating on it other than what they are saying is true and you cant accept it. i agree it is slower than normal and they just changed their sound to sound more mainstream, which is good for them, more money.

how come when a band changes their sound its for money? these dudes are far from rich, unless they are winning at the poker tables... they have just grown as musicians, they arent 18/19 years old anymore, they arent going to write punk songs the rest of their life, they arent nofx, if you look at the progression of all their records you would understand this, you can be a douche and say someone is changing their sound for money, but you fuckin sound retarded when you say that, not all bands are at this for money, cuz if they were at this for the money they would have given up a long time ago. go fuck yourself, people change and bands change, they arent going to write the same thing over and over again, if that were the case they would have stayed on negative progression and written crappy records the rest of their lives.

ok, so when you hit the age of 19 you must stop writing punk songs?

what is the reasoning behind the change. Timing is Everything even had softer songs like Fall, but they were great. I guess I don't get it.

all im sayin is that everytime a band changes their sound dumb ass kids just say its for money, fall was a stepping stone to where they are today as writers, they are just writing the records they want to write and play live, its not like after timing is everything they were like "hmm ok, we want to become millionares, lets change our sound and make some money". all im sayin is just because a band changes their sound, doesnt mean they are out for the money...

'Change' is not a universally aplicable word.
When Thrice changed for Vheissu, no one said they were sell-outs.

And apparently, the new Over It songs sound more commercially appealing, thus people think they might be in it for the money.
If it is true or not is not debatable, but the songs themselves make people feel that way.

I agree and yeah, we'll never know for sure if it was for the money unless someone asks them if it was.

i know these guys very well you can ask them, they have their contact info up on their website, stop being gay and thinking that every band is out for money, thats whats wrong with kids today, they think because a band signs to a major they are just at it for the money, like i have said on here before, not all bands sign to a major and get a 3 million dollar deal like FFTL, these guys are still a small band and they definitely arent making money worth bragging about yet.....

you are a fuckin idiot
