Someone made a documentary, using CGI, showing Bush getting assasinated.

http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=ojWOWyHWj6M

How is that any different? If anything, the depiction of a president being assasinated is far worse than someone "praying" it will happen.

I think we're ignoring the elephant in the room here. This person's favorite actor and actress were Patrick Swayze and Farrah Fawcett. Clearly no sane person would list those two as their favorites.

No. Because you're spewing nonsense.

"oh people who don't think like I do want to pray that the president dies. Lets disregard the past 8 years where a president I disagreed with caught shit and I never spoke up. What? Someone made a brutal mockumentary of his assassination? I didn't say boo? That was artistic of course. That's different".

It isn't. You're stupid.

It also isn't hate speech. For you to even assert that it is merely confirms my above belief that you're stupid.

I just think over a million people joining a group "Praying" for president's death is a little more alarming than some moron making a fantasy movie. And it's not just praying, maybe you should read some of the postings in the group.

So less than 1/300 of the citizens of the United States have joined this group.

Let me know when that number gets up to say roughly 250,000,000 and maybe then its time to be concerned.

Some of the arguments are hilarious. All by the same girl to somebody named Akash:

...let's debate health care reform. That's right, what Obama "says" is going to be in the bill, no one really knows...not even you. From working in the healthcare field, what I do know is, That the poor elderly people who are on Medicare, are really going to get screwed now, and your ME ma, god forbid she gets sick and is dying, the government gets to decide whether she lives or dies. Common

Not to piss off any libertarians, but I do have to agree. Both things, the bush assassination vid and the facebook page. I just find the facebook page a little more disturbing because its a larger amount of people in a much less controlled and educated format perpetuating ridiculous beliefs upon idiots who believe anything in order to take down the president thus setting off a crazy chain of events leading to anarchy.
But seriously the vid is kind of hard to judge out of context and I'd rather view its entirety than just judge the rest off of youtube comments.

All this hate and no one answered my question. I dont know that much about the Bush administration, except that he gets hate for the war and the economy, but I don't really think either of those were caused by his legislation. I could be wrong and would love proof.

You can't really blame Bush personally for the attack on the Twin Towers, and war is what happens after someone attacks you.

Did Obama cut taxes? I certainly did not hear that on the news. But if he didn't, then I wonder who did? And raising them back up will happen eventually. How else do you expect the US to pay for the stimulus package and all the new government jobs created by it that will cost us more and more as time goes on?

I never make jokes about people dying. Maybe I'm just not an asshole.
I'm not saying making jokes about someone dying is OK. I'm saying if you don't get all in an uproar about it every time it happens, I'm not sure why you're doing it now. Like someone said before, it this was made about Bush, the reactions would be totally different.

Anyone else getting the feeling that his assassination (or at least attempt) is almost imminent? I feel like the little nugget of violence has been thrown around too long, and sooner or later a lunatic is going to try to Reagan him, only this time it's not for Jodie Foster, but for Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin. :shudder:

I definitely thought it was going to happen, but now I dont know. I mean, it could happen again, but not for the same reasons as Regan, definitely not in the name of someone else but in the name of the country like Lincoln.

I can only speak from experience and most of the people I hear griping about racism towards Obama never spoke a word against racism anywhere else. Yeah, racism is an archaic mindset that needs to be phased out, but it irritates me how any criticism of Obama is immediately perceived as being based in ignorance, racism, or some other negativity. Can't people just not like the dude?

Sure, but its also ridiculously easy to pick out if someone actually has a non-racial, actual 'based in policy' problem with Obama (spoiler alert: there aren't that many) , and who has either a racial problem with him, or has a problem with him because of FoxNEWS, and therefore, racial undertones to their problems with him.

I think that's an unfair assumption. The liberal media (which does exist, just as the conservative media does) just portrays the crazies more than the rational ones. With the rise of the internet (which is hugely liberal, and I believe this to be undeniable), and being that most young people get our news from the internet, it is completely reasonable to assume there is just more focus placed on the crazies.

Hell, even the tea partiers are painted as wholly insane when they're doing the most American thing one can do.

i've read conservative blogs/newspapers/editorials in addition to liberal ones, and i still would say that, by and large, the amount of people who have problems with obama's policies and can rationally, logically point out specific examples of them is much smaller than people who are simply using either what they hear or their base emotions to make judgements.

They aren't all uninformed morons protesting death panels and asking for Obama's birth certificate for the twentieth time. Some are, but not all. They're disgruntled with the direction their country is going, the higher taxes and bigger government. They've got every right to protest those things. I think it's a great movement.

And the internet is mainly a tool of the young and young people are overwhelmingly more liberal than their parents. The internet isn't run by one specific group, but it's predominantly used by young liberals.

There was literally a good two years, and two wars, before "Bush bashing" became a common phenomenon. I mean, obviously he had his opponents from the beginning, but certainly nothing as extreme as what Obama received before even being elected. In addition, Bush-hate is pretty bipartisan, even my ridiculously Conservative, Sean Hannity-worshiping dad doesn't like Bush. Obama hate is almost entirely partisan, however. This, if nothing else, should speak to how much Bush really did to deserve the backlash he received, whereas Obama is simply irritating people who don't agree with him (mostly), which of course warrants death threats.

I agree with some things you say but I wouldn't say that Obama hate is almost entirely partisan. Hell, he has flip flopped on so many issues it's not funny. He extended the Left-wing hated Patriot Act and is taking credit for the Liberation of Iraq after voting against the war and everything that had to do with it. Not to mention many other issues. He's a goon like the rest of them. He's so worried about getting his idea's through (like the Health Care Reform) that he turns a blind a eye to the shitty economy and national debt that is killing America. It all comes down to power. The gov't owns most of the auto industry, banks, real estate, and now health care all because of "great" ideas by Obama. I can see why people want to lash out and call him a socialist because government is getting entirely to big and taxes are being raised entirely too high. The government is supposed to work for the people of America, not the other way around.
