at somepoint drive thru will be starting yet another label, one for singer/songwriters. with all the complaints form people ranging from release dates to band quality has drive thru records done something to improve themselves or hurt themselves in the long run, are they stretching themselves too thin?

While I love Houston Calls and some other Rushmore bands aren't bad, I don't see why they don't just sign them to DTR.

I said that another label will be good for them...but now that I think about it, bands like Houston Calls and Day At The Fair (RIP) should just sign to Drive Thru, while Rushmore should sign the bands like An Angle, and Socratic...then for the solo one they should get people like David Melillo on it. That would mabye make sense, but they could just put them all on one label too.

i agree with both of you.. whats the point of having extra labels when they can just put them all on one? but i dont really know a lot about the music buisness so w/e i guess

I'm pretty sure the second and third choice are pretty much the same thing. Pulse we all know they should of never made Rushmore. Still should of signed HCalls though

Rushmore would be a mistake.

Basically, I want to see the label back in action, full force before they make a 3rd one.

If you can't handle the workload, you shouldn't take on more responsibility. From what I know, the current drama should simply not have happened.

The point of having the other labels is this: They want to sign a lot of artists but they don't want to put them all under one name. Thats the idea of an Imprint. Just like Tooth And Nail has Solid State to put their hardcore stuff out. It's just a way of grouping together groups with similar ideas. With that said, i think it's a terrible idea.

I went for 'they should stop after rushmore' purely on the basis of that I would never have heard the awesome bands if they hadn't have started it.

I think Love Minus Zero would essentially be the nail in the coffin, BUT I really think he should still sign Roark to DTR. He's amazing..
