actually you know what, i think i had n sync and backstreet boys mixed up in my head. i remembered seeing a behind-the-music type thing where they were playing a wal-mart parking lot as children to like 20 people, but it had been so long i forgot which group it was. however i really think i do remember reading that both groups extensively toured europe before breaking in the US, but to be honest i was never all that into them, so i could be mistaken.

as for fall out boy, i think it's just a problem of perception. a thread pops up about them and you get 20 people bitching and moaning about "how gay pete wentz is", but if you check out the weekly last fm listings, it's obvious they're still pretty popular with the majority of people on this site. it's just not cool to say so.

2) writing your own music means jack shit if the music you write isn't good. having said that, timberlake does write his own songs, and they are relatively better than a majority of the bands people here listen to...plus he produced on his album and owns his own record company

Justin Timberlake writes/co-writes all of his music. And yeah, Kelly Clarkson won her fame to claim through a ridiculous TV show, but I mean, her music is pretty damn catchy and I think she's better than any of the other female pop singers.

I'm listening to his CD right now and it's pretty darn good.

Well that is a shame because there are some great moments on this cd. But if you were never a fan of justin before I doubt this would make you like him now...It's versatile but its the same old pop/hip hop influenced stuff!
