the emmys are tonight, and the nominations are fucking retarded, but at least we get conan for a host. i'll be rooting for jeremy piven, steve carrell, and elizabeth perkins, and grumbling my way through the rest of the categories.

no best comedy series for entourage or weeds (in favor of 2 and a half men), no acting nods for scrubs, nothing for lost, no noms for james gandolfini or edie falco (yeah, they've won before, but you can't tell me they didn't deserve at least a nomination), nothing for the shield, no acting nod for hugh laurie but house is up for best drama (i don't even watch the show and i can tell how fucked up that is)..... i could go on

oh and the reason i'm rooting for piven over the guy in my avatar is because that show can't be helped by winning awards anymore. everyone who knows anything (which is admittedly too small an audience) recognizes that it was a great show, but post mortem gestures aren't gonna do any good now. i'd rather see shows that still have some life left get some recognition.

waggy

TJ Wells
08/27/06, 05:22 PM

the whole cast of seinfeld got screwed out of emmy awards nearly every year so it's nice to see her at least get one for her new show.

on a sidenote: Larry David should never lose a writing award and yet they continue to snub him

curb your enthusiasm is largely improvised. it's a great show, but i don't think it deserves writing awards above the brilliantly written comedies currently on (entourage, weeds, the office, scrubs, and until recently arrested development).

The fact that Deadwood wasn't nominated for a single award shows the idiocy of the nominations.

Ian McShane should have won best lead actor in a drama series and Deadwood should win Best Drama series

The real crime this year was giving Nip/Tuck like two bogus noms. Dylan Walsh and Julian McMahon both deserved to be in there.

Nip/Tuck is a show that i need to watch from the beginning. After I finally getting around to grabbing both seasons of Carnivale, I will definitely start watching those

Nip/Tuck is definately a show you wanna watch from the beginning. The Carver storyline goes on for like two seasons.

The Season 2 finales of Deadwood, Carnivale and Nip/Tuck are three of the greatest hours of television ever.

I have seen one episode of NIp/tuck that made me very interested, but due to the fact that it was in the middle of last season I didn't want to ruin it, so I watched the show no further.

I'm glad I moved out of my house and got cable/downloaded deadwoos and entourage. It may have slowed down how many movies I watch, but overall its not such a bad thing

This dude stuffs heroin implants in these girls' tits and sends them over the border to America in one episode haha.

Thats pretty crazy. Although the cocaine ball swallowing in Maria Full of Grace tops it imo.
