The following is a mini interview of generic questions that we posed to all bands that wanted to answer:

1. How did you get your band name?
We chose the name Someone Like You because we wanted to represent who we are, 5 normal dudes who like to party and play music. We wanted to convey that we’re not any different just because we’re in a band, and we’re still the same as our audience. We still go to shows and get star struck when we meet our favorite artists, just like everybody else.
2. How did this band get started?
Garry and Tim met up in mid-2008 after Tim’s old band, Nothing Less, broke up to record some home demos for kicks. After getting a lot of attention from people in high places, they realized they needed to put a band together, quick. Finally in the spring of 2009, the lineup was solid enough to start recording and playing shows. We started working our butts off on promotion, playing regional shows, and still having a fun time with it all.
3. What bands are you influenced by?
We are all influenced by so many different bands. Green Day and Blink 182 from when we were kids, and Four Year Strong and Forever The Sickest Kids from the past couple years. We love pop, punk, hardcore, and rock, and that definitely shows in our music.
4. If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would it be and why?
I think our influences would be awesome to tour with. I’m definitely going to go ahead and say Green Day, Blink 182, Four Years Strong, and Forever The Sickest Kids. They all have awesome music and always put on an awesome concert.
5. If you were a furry, what animal would you be? Why that animal?
Panda bear for the win. So cute.
6. Why should people listen to your band?
We are unique. We are catchy. Sometimes we surprise our listeners with breakdowns. Sometimes we surprise our listeners with piano ballads. I would go ahead and say that we’re unpredictable, but our music will always make you happy and will get stuck in your head for days.
7. If you were chosen to be in Guitar Hero/Rock Band, what song would you want in the game? How hard do you think it would be to five-star on expert?
I think we’re going to go with “Anchoring Me Down” on this one. There’s a pretty sexy guitar solo about halfway through, and I think, with enough practice, most players could get it on expert.
8. If you won a Grammy, who would you thank?
All of our listeners, supporters, fans, friends, family, and everyone behind the scenes. If it weren’t for these people, we wouldn’t be where we are today.
9. If you could change something about the music industry, what would it be?
I think the hardest thing about the music industry is getting noticed. If there were easier ways for unsigned artists to get radio or TV airplay, than more people would be exposed to good, independent music.
10. Memorable tour experience?
I vaguely recall an all night dance party with lots of beautiful women. Yeah.
11. What does AP.net mean to you?
AP.net means a lot to me. I was exposed to most of the music I love today by websites like this. AP.net gives independent bands exposure, motivation, and inspiration. It also helps guys like us find good, new music.
12. What is your favorite song to play?
Our favorite song to play is going to have to be “Keep Your Friends Close.” This one has it all; catchy choruses, heavy breakdowns, and an awesome clap-along/sing-along bridge. Oh yeah and the verses are punk as fuck. Definitely our favorite.
13. What is your vacation spot of choice?
Finding a unanimous answer for this one is going to be hard. Anywhere with a beach and a good music scene!
14. What music reminds you of your childhood?
Green Day, hands down. We all grew up on “Dookie.”
15. If you could have any super power, what would it be? Why?
Teleporting! 12 hour drives get kind of old.
16. Do you feel that your band has "made it"?
We’re getting there! We could use some help though. Tell your friends about Someone Like You!
17. What is something that most fans don't know about you?
Most of us didn’t know each other prior to creating the band. We were all random friends of friends who needed a band to jam in, and luckily for us, it clicked and we stuck around and became great friends!
18. What's your favorite holiday?
July 4th. Fireworks. America, fuck yeah!
19. What do you like to do in your spare time?
We’re all down for anything and everything. Basketball, reading, traveling, you name it. We’re a diverse group of guys who are always down to try something new!
20. What kind of hidden talents do you have?
We’ve been known to be good at things such as basketball, playing ukulele, hustling, dancing, and cooking, just to name a few.
