Fucking nervous

So tomorrow's my first day of classes. I'm a commuter, so obviously I have no complaints about the dorms, campus, etc.

But I decided it would be a good idea to skip all of this weekend's activites so I could receive one last big paycheck (16 weekend hours, 36 hours total) before I cutback to my 20-25 hour school-time work load. ANYWAYS; move-in was Friday, followed by stuff all weekend, meeting the professors, meeting other freshmen, etc. and I skipped it.

I'm totally regretting that decision. So I know every college is different, but I just want to know how the first day for everyone else went. Hopefully it'll help calm me down, cause I'm ridiculously nervous right now

i've had a couple of people (who didn't go to NU) tell me you get a shitload of homework on the first day.

I hope it's not true, because class 8:00-12:15, coupled with working 1:30-10, and the shitty night of sleep I'm going to get is bad enough. Add me getting shit loads of homework (that won't be due for awhile, I know) AND I WILL KILL PEOPLE.

Your first class is going to be full of other freshmen. Everyone is in the same boat. Of course its going to be weird until you get used to your schedule and your new environment in stuff. It won't be that bad I don't think though. Good luck

My first class will be. It's the Criminal Justice (201) and Intro to Law (203 - WHICH I DONT WANT TO TAKE) that I'm worried about.

I tell them I'm considering PreMed (to be an anesthesiologist) and they put me in Intro to Fucking LAW.

I doubt you will get any homework the first day. People are still dropping and adding classes so it would be pointless to be assigned any. It would be more likely within the second or third day.

My first day of school was ok. I met new people while waiting for the class to start. Most of my classes on the first day talked about the syllabus and what the course would be about. Sometimes they even do an activity where you introduce yourself. I'm starting on my second year of college tomorrow. I'm a commuter and I have an 8 am class. Now that's really going to suck. But yeah good luck with school!

Haha, i read this and ironically, I did the same thing today, story time:
I'm going to Kutztown U, and I got a postcard a few days ago saying that we needed to report at 11 on Sunday to have a commuter meeting. I didn't call off work, but I let my boss know I may be a little late. I worked at 11, so I said I'll probably be in by 12. I go there and everyone there is saying, yo how long will this last??? Anyway, they pass out the "schedule of events" for the day, and everyone is like, "shit, this last until 5:30??!!?" The woman who is directing the intro to the whole day of events opens it up to questions and about 3 or 4 people ask if they can go, because they have to work today, and the woman says that today was mandatory. Now, I would of walked out right then, but I see in the back the staff locking the fucking doors. So, she goes on for another hour about shit we already know about getting involved in campus life and bullshit like that. I'm getting antsy, because I as well want a full paycheck, and an eight hour day suppliments this. The woman in the front explains that at this time we all will single file to the schaffer auditorium for a movie. I get out into the hall and bolt down the hallway along with 10-20 other people who want to get the hell out of here. I get to my car and go to work, explaing to my boss about Auschwitz-Kutztown.

Anyway, I'm not nervous about it because it cannot be worse than high school and it seems to be so relaxing that my school isn't too massive.

first day is awesome because usually you are in class for about 10 minutes while the proff talks about the syllabus, text books you actually need and expectations and all that stuff and then you are done for the day.

but I too am a commuter and have 8AM classes on tuesday and wednesdays... which means i get to leave my house at 6:30! sweet! :(

I go to virginia tech, college is amazingly fun. im a junior and went to none of my first week classes because ice breakers and syllabus' are lame.

me too, since my prog is a 3 year one condensed into 2 years. first class was 3 hours long but at least it was outside and i ended up falling asleep against the wall in the sun. it was nice.
