Does anyone know If online schools that lend you laptops monitor your activities?
I'm not saying I'd look at porn on the laptop, I'd just like to know if I'm being "watched" or not.
I would ask the school supervisors, But I don't know how I'd just bring that up, without sounding suspicious.

I do my schooling through an online school who lent me my laptop and I'm pretty sure they were watching me because the green light from the webcam would always come on, and when I put red electrical tape on it they got pissed and threatened me.
It depends on the school and I doubt they do that now because of all of the national attention from it. Although I know that they can remotely access your computer or some shit like that.
im enrolled at a online school. mine doesnt supply shit. and quite often you cant even gain access because their website is fucked up. it makes me angry

Your parent/guardian has to siggn off that you've done required activities and all 'participants' have to meet biweekly (I think) at a specific gymnasium to do certain sports or tests.

I was at a internet cafe a while ago. I was walking to the toilet, the women working there was on her computer, and she could see everything I was doing, through her computer. Also, during my last year of secondary school, a lot of our computer were being controlled by the IT technicians. It would freak us all out, when suddenly we couldn't control the mouse, and our internet browser close.
I doubt they monitor what your doing, if you're borrowing it outside lessons. But, delete your browsing history, in case you went on something you weren't meant to. ;-)

my comment wasn't aimed at you, just to be clear. it was a general social commentary on our shitty schools and their "innovative" new teaching methods which don't actually involve teaching or physical activity. Anything to help out with the budget cuts, regardless of how they negatively impact our population and society.

If you want to know if a school is doing this kind of thing, maybe try looking at the contract for anything weird, I dont think the supervisor would really come out and tell you "yeah we'll be watching you through the webcam or randomly monitoring your activity".

just check the processes and see whats running on the computer. theres different types of monitoring programs. i don't think they would do anything like that but you never know. can't remember any specific names for you tho sorry

legally they're not really supposed to be spying on you but then again, there was just a huge case brought up in the media about a student who was reprimanded for "taking drugs" that they saw him taking through his school-loaned laptop, when in actuality the kid was eating Mike and Ike's (candies). If i recall correctly there's a huge lawsuit taking place over the invasion of privacy.

Yeah except I didnt steal my story, I brought my computer into the school because I thought it was a virus doing the whole thing (and it very well could have been)...when my mom heard about the boy in the news getting in trouble for eating when his school was spying on him, she told me about it and thats when we realized thats what could have been happening.
In threads from last year I talked about how my macbook got a virus, and how my school was threatening to sue me for reformatting the hard drive or some weird shit (which made no sense to me) and how they kept making a big deal about the tape. I especially talked about it in the blow job thread.

If I had a picture of myself up here before, people would probably believe me more. But hey one day you can meet my mom and she'll make you some meat loaf (or something) and show you my baby pictures and confirm the stories for you and thats the only way you'd really know.

They could probably go through the cookies and non-deleted stuff if they are suspicious, but I don't think they can check the screen when you are on it, what I mean is they cannot share a screen from their computer to yours.
