I've been having a bit of a lyrical dry spell for a few months. The other day, though, walking down the street, I saw a pretty violent break-up of a very young couple. The girl had a baby in her arms. It kinda shook me. I hope to put it to music, once I've got my head round the slightly awkward structure.
I fucking hate you
Screamed the thrown bins, broken fence
And his clenched fists
In a fit
Of despair and rage
You mean nothing to me
Said his eyes, innocent subjects
Above regretful spew,
Withered youth
And too much fucking alcohol
Don't come back, don't ever come back
This corner is too big for me and the baby child
Don't leave us to rot in this corner
Peeling paper to soak her tears
This is an inspection of the human heart
The human heart, the human heart
Its blunt simplicity and its beautiful exceptions
I fucking hate you
Screamed the thrown bins, broken fence
And his clenched fists
In a fit
Of despair and rage
You mean nothing to me
Said his eyes, innocent subjects
Above regretful spew,
Withered youth
And too much fucking alcohol
Don't come back, don't ever come back
This corner is too big for me and the baby child
Don't leave us to rot in this corner
Peeling paper to soak her tears
This is an inspection of the human heart
The human heart, the human heart
Its blunt simplicity and its beautiful exceptions
