Oceans Firing (http://www.myspace.com/oceansfiring) recently posted an update on their MySpace page regarding their departure from Floodgate Records:
Here's what happened with Floodgate.
As far as we understand, due to financial problems at the label, they were not able to pay us what was stated in our contract. We were not dropped...they gave us the option to be released and we opted to take it. We felt that this was the best option for our band to take. We are honestly all very excited about the position we are now in.
We decided to go ahead and fund the record ourselves. When it is done we will be looking for a new home. We are doing everything possible to get the record out as quickly as possible.
In the meantime, we are going to be touring machines. Keep checking our page for new dates. Thanks for all the support."
