That's no surprise after the lack of success their EPs brought them.

i meant when like they were saying they had a huge merch sale..so i went to their myspace..and everything on there kinda pointed to them breaking up..i probably should have made what i said more clearer. whatever dude.
This is rather unfortunate. They were awesome live.

my old band played with them a few times, and their lead singer just moved in as my sisters room mate. I hope he doesn't mind me mentioning this. we talked the other day for a little while, and he seemed very frunstrated with the lack of succes during thier last few tours. now, don't think that he was pissed because he wasn't on cribs yet. . .things jsut weren't picking up for them. it seems (he kind of said this, but this is my view) that the world is changing. a band is actually better off in most cases siting at home running their myspace than actually touring. touring just isn't dong for bands what it used to do. but you have to take everything into account. the price of gas is double what it was a few years ago, which means that bands have to pay twice as much to keep their van full. not to mention, kids just simply aren't coming to shows and suporting the way they once did. that, and, kids just don't really care if their favorite band is any good live. as long as its on mtv, its good, even if you've never toured before. I don't know that the days of paying your dues are over, but it's not the same as it was.

Haha this isnt the reason ... there were a few different things going on within the band that im not sure the others would like me talkin about...but there wasnt a huge blowout or anything like that..we are all on good terms and such..and personally i appreciate most of the nice replys that people have been leaving... Thanks again for all of the continued support.
Chris
I was so pissed when I found this out the other day. It sucks so bad.

i saw them a couple months ago, and they were so together and so fun... even if there were only five kids watching. i still think they should've won that takeover records contest thing. they were my favorite unsigned.

these guys all remain some of my best friends and i have been there from the start showing my support and i know a few of you who truly loved these guys. It is very frustrating for me to see them go because they always seemed so close yet still so far away from accomplishing their dreams. I mostly blame the industry for their demise. This band had the talent, they certainly had the hooks, one big thing was they had a voice cause lets face alot of your favorite bands sound great on cd but how many can actually belt it out live...NOT THAT MANY. Mark Blume really has an incredible voice and the guys know how to write good tunes. they have quite a few near misses with labels. they seemed to always fall into the crack of to poppy for the indies and to indy for the majors. I love these guys to death and will miss seeing them play live together. One final plea though, if anyone on here actually works for a label im sure if you offered them a good deal they would get back together so come on lets generate some buzz, write angry letters to labels. I mean thats how quantum leap got brought back for its 4th season, thats how arrested development got brought back for a 3rd season haha
maybe it can work with a band.
these 4 guys and some of the other dudes that have been in bcd in the past are some of the nicest most humble dudes you will ever meet . The hardest working band i ever met and maybe i am bias
but i have seen the big labels sign the same old generic shit over and over again and kids just eat it up because someone tells them too. does anyone really actually like cute is what we aim for or dave melillo. Well i nevermind i dont want to get into bashing other bands, but it has always frustrated me to see certain other bands get the recognition when they hardly have done anything to earn it. Yes both bands i have mentioned tour now but certainly did not at the point that they were sign to two of the biggest indie labels in the nation. so thats my beef BCD rules and more people should of loved them and told their friends to listen to them and someone should of signed them and gave them a good offer. oh and one last thing
WHY THE FUCK IS THEIR A BAND CALLED BIG CITY ROCK? and they suck
