Holy shit, this thing has a huge soundtrack, I skimmed through what was probably 100 tracks. Off the top of my head I can remember The Fall of Troy, Bear vs. Shark, Codeseven, uhhh, Fall Out Boy I think, The Aquabats... it goes on and on.

I'm trying to decide if I should trade in Fight Night Round 3 and Ghost Recon and get this for $9.99. EB and Gamestop will let you trade in two games and pay $10 for a new game. (I know it's not that great of a deal, but I haven't really played either of those games in a while now.)

yeah, I was thinking about that. It does say that "2006 sports games are excluded," but since they don't release a new Fight Night every year, does that mean it doesn't count? I guess I could call and find out.

Dude, that's definitely a good deal. Those games are probably barely worth 25 in trade-in together.

it may not be original, but pretty much every review I've read has said that it is much better than previous GTAs. as far as GTA IV goes, we'll just have to wait and see.

Oh, it definitely is man. My jaw dropped when I saw how similar the two games are. They play almost exactly the same. There are some minor improvements which are sweet, though.

the only reason it has been better is because it is on next-gen. the story and missons have been pretty straightforward unlike any of the gta storylines.

saints row is indeed a better game than gta
however, it is a rip off
think of it this way, goldeneye got amazin reviews when it came out. timesplitters, the spiritual succesor of goldeneye got 80s in its review. does that mean its not as good as goldeneye? no.

With GTA SA we're talking about a game that came out like 2 years ago or whatever. "It's time" isn't really much different than Saint's Row's time.

Games like Call of Duty 2 and such still got higher scores despite being rehashes of a sort. I can't imagine Saint's Rows scores got dropped just for being a rehash, it seems like simply from a quality standpoint it just isn't as good.

SUCH a good game, im playing it right now. i dunno if it was mentioned earlier, but motion city's L.G. FUAD is on the soundtrack as well. now if you'll excuse me, i have to jump a draw-bridge as it rapidly opens and hope i dont fall short and plummet to my watery grave.

From the reviews I've actually read, plenty of the game mechanics have been improved. Really the only negatives that they have given are that it is a rip-off of GTA, the humor is forced, the story is bland, the graphics can look a bit off at times, and there are some noticible bugs. They're pretty much all saying that this game improved on the staple that GTA built.

I haven't found the humor forced whatsoever. It's pretty spot on if you as me. I haven't played enough to get a gist of the whole story, but it probably is pretty bland, but in the same way GTA: Vice City was basically Scarface, and GTA: San Andreas was Boyz In Da Hood, Menace to Society, etc. The graphics in SR are miles better than GTA and if you think there wasn't bugs and glitches in the GTA games you're out of your mind.

But in end all it going to come down to is none of these reviewers are going to openly admit that this game is better than the flagship of this genre because they respect it too much. Heck, I don't even think that I would rate this game better than any GTA just for that reason.
